i think maru was a pretty incredible player before he got hot and he's a pretty incredible player now. what i don't think is that he's "unbeatable" or that classic, one of the most consistently high level players of the past 5 years, can't beat him in a matchup which is fairly stable for protoss

no result would surprise me. 3-0, 3-1, 3-2, either player can win depending on how they turn up. more often than not these hot and cold streaks just reflect sharp, minor meta changes where one player gets really good at exploiting common playstyles. this isn't foreign ladder where people are "outclassing" each other - probably only true is mismatched here (personally im hoping for him to advance )

It will be interesting to see if Maru can dominate a TvP. Clearly sOs was not playing well in either of their series. Maru managed to make the games against Stats mostly play into his own strengths, but Stats was also not performing his best. And this season, Maru has not taken a single map off Classic. Feel like this is the big test for Maru, against a top PvT player. If Classic manages to take the initiative, Maru is in trouble I think.
