Go China! I think they will do much better vs reynor this time around, since they've seen reynor's deep run at WESG and want revenge from last time. I expect China's protoss squad bring the book of BS and take notes for him. Hope I'm not jinxing though.

I'm not sure, wondering the same but for the 28th there is already the next group scheduled according to Twitter. 5 Matches would mean the show would drag on quite late for them in Paris though.

I would like to see China take down Italy since TIME is a promising young terran but if our team didn't manage to take a single game off of Reynor I doubt China will be able to take two...
Norway should go through easily vs Canada but it might be hard vs Italy.
I'd go for the long shot and predict : Norway 1st and China 2nd coming from the loser bracket with the rematch curse against Italy :D
On March 28 2018 06:53 CynicalDeath wrote: dat oversize Canadian flag tho
It's not oversize, it's the correct size. Ex-British places have 1:2 ratio flags whereas most countries use the more sensible 2:3 (and Norway for some reason has an 8:11 flag).
Snute is a beast, but I don't count out NoRegret against any player in the world in 1 map. He won't take a series off of a Snute, but 1 map he certainly can. Now they need to beat Snute twice, so it might be difficult, but they could do it. Then if Italy makes it through that could be an interesting finals. Reynor is a beast, but Italy has no depth. I take Jig and Bioice over MiaNonna and RuinBlaster anyday. So again noRegret can take any 1 map. But can they defeat Reynor twice?
Honestly I'd rank this group as: Top Player: 1) Norway, 2) Italy, 3) China, 4) Canada Depth: 1) China, 2) Canada, 3) Norway, 4) Italy
But this format means best player is super important. I would not be surprised if any team comes out of this group or any team gets eliminated, This group is up for grabs. Only maybe Group C has more parity.
Now does anyone know what the Ro16 schedule looks like? This group will start on Thursday but will they play the whole group on Thursday? Or just first two matches? If they are only doing 2 matches per day it will take quite a while to complete the Ro 16 no?

It really all depends on whether the seconds or thirds can take out the first.
I agree Scythe and Poseidon seem to be solid. I have seen much more from Jig and Bioice so I rank them higher but I could be wrong for sure. I agree though it mostly depends if how the aces do. Snute has the experience, the talent, and the all around game over noRegret no doubt. But NoRegret is one hell of a sniper. He is not a guy who is balanced or can all kill, but in one map situations he can take out literally anyone on the planet. The problem with the format is he'd have to do it twice. I don't think Canada is favoured against Norway because of this, but I think they have a chance.

I doubt they're good enough to last long enough to actually tire him out. If he's tired it's more likely cause it's night in China.

I know nothing about the other two players, but I doubt they'd be good enough to string out the games that long.
On March 30 2018 01:08 starkiller123 wrote: how was the TIME Reynor game?
Decent but nothing amazing. TIME's initial hellbat/marauder push was decent but he really put himself ahead after a follow up hellbat drop murdered a bunch of drones. He almost threw that away after a bunch of banelings killed a follow up hellbat/cyclone push, but then murdered with a tank/hellion/hellbat push with +2 which hit before vipers could get out.
Wow. Reynor is the real deal. Win or lose here, this is an amazing breakout tournament for the guy.
Gotta love Nationwars for consistently producing amazing stories such as this. This year it's Reynor, two years ago it was Marinelord's all kill of team Korea. Snute's had some awesome moments, team Canada has had some great moments. It's slowly becoming my favorite tournament of the year.
Man Reynor is good. Doesn't overcommit and has very good multitask and positioning. Really happy with his results, even if he ends up losing to TIME in ace match.

VIVA ITALIA!!! (Dunno how to actually say that in Italian but I imagine it's something like that).
What an amazing tournament this guy is having.
The one man army!!
Also, how did that Nydus survive long enough to be effective?
He had his queens unload first, transfuse the nydus, and target the banshees down. Hellions don't do shit to nydus/queens/roaches so it was instant gg once 3 queens got out and were able to heal the worm.
I can honestly see Reynor beating Canada/Norway in the Winners Match. Canada is notably weak without Scarlett (plus just 1 matchup), and if Reynor can beat Snute, its fair game vs Norway.

He's GM in NA (tho he's been GM in EU for a few days some time ago).
Nonna showed good micro, but ultimately lost for a couple of macro errors. Shame, it was quite close until those economic differences didn't kick in proud of him anyway
It's also a shame that the joke in his nickname flies across the heads of everyone who's not italian
Oooh, I see Reynor didn't disappoint anyone. The Wunderkind is carrying his team alright! I wish Vasa cast was back. I can just imagine the shouting "Bambinoooooooooo prodigioooooooo!"

I have done the research. As it turns out, the queen of Swaziland is not any of his wives, it's his mom.

Damn I was hoping to make some smart comment about Oedipus
wowowow what a sick hold that +1 carapace saved him there. Razor thin hold, but really lucky that he left some roaches at Snutes base to clean up drones.

Oh, I thought they were saying in the early game that Snute would be keeping up, not that they'd be even for the win chance I think Neeb is the only foreigner who has a chance at an even winrate vs Serral in the longterm.

He stopped before Nation Wars yeah, only StarEagle was left by then.

But seriously Reynor improved so much it's crazy
Hey don't forget Cloud!
Man, I wish Vasa was around to appreciate this. He'd be losing his shit right now .
If Canada gets knocked out tomorrow I'm bandwagon jumping shamelessly, Reynor's just too inspiring to not get hyped about.

I know he's really young but if Reynor can pull off a major WCS win I really want him to try to qualify for a GSL. I think he'd have a better shot to go far than any of the foreigners who are trying at this point, plus I'm hoping this is just the beginning of his road to improvement.
These games just feel off, especially after watching ASL and GSL. It just seems like both parties aren't that great and the one that is "less bad" wins.

I like the odds in Mexico vs Taiwan tbh.
Mexico has some depth, but I'm not convinced Taiwan does with how Has has being playing recently. It's probably all about Nice.
The way I see it, everyone on Team Taiwan sucks against Zerg, but Nice can execute well enough to get a win against Cham, and then if they sneak one past SpeCial as well there won't be an all-kill.
1 pheonix earlier (after oracles) weaving in and out of those scrappy fights mighta turned fights around but crazy to make that decision in the game. and still can be microed against, but i feel like fewer units would have been so easily saved at the minimum, and maybe you get the prism.
i think thats one of the only times i've seen robo beat stargate in that situation.
time should have gone up the ramp and killed the main after he killed the 2nd building spine on his first hellbat/marine/scv attack
snute would had like 2 queens 1 spine and 6 lings with no pool good chance time could have killed the natural hatch before a new pool finished and that woulda been gg

Well this is only true because of the lack of depth in the rosters, I'm not sure you can really do anything about it. If it was Proleague format instead of All-Kill I don't think the tournament would be better.
