sOs certainly made some mistakes that series, but as someone who's followed Oregon Ducks football for 15 years, I'm used to people who don't understand forced errors telling me my team's wins don't mean anything because the opponent played poorly. The amount of pressure Scarlett was able to put on sOs was outstanding.

So is this the time the WCS stops being region locked or do we wait until Koreans will need the region lock?

Only two Koreans were allowed in this event let's be honest if Koreans were allowed in every Qualifier then you probably end up with soO innovation etc being in the tournament too and unlikely for Scarlett to qualify/win then.

Regardless congrats to Scarlett she played really well hopefully this is a sign of things to come.

How does this logic apply to the fact she advanced to the RO16 in GSL?

The good results of foreigners can be explained in 2 ways, either they became really good or Koreans are becoming worse. With the retreat of KeSPA from SC2 and most of the great teams no longer supporting players I doubt that foreigners are suddenly so godlike.

Yes, currently the fully unlocked WCS would be dominated by Koreans. But they wouldn't unlock it immediatelly and even if we start talking right now I doubt they would unlock it for the next year. ANd in 2 years we can have locked GSL for the same reasons WCS is locked now ;-)

Edit> I don't mean to lower Scarlett's success - she played really well(and she played well in the past too). But I don't think she played much better than before(e.g. her game vs. Bomber(I believe)).

Yes the Korean scene is declining in terms of number of players I dont think quality wise, I do think foreigners are getting better. Having 1 forein GSL ro16 doesn't really prove much we've had foreigners in later stages when there was no region lock. Honestly having 4 more tournaments a year where Koreans can participate I don't think its going to help their scene much it just means innovation etc earn some more money and travel a bit more the main problem that I see is a lack of interest in SC2 in Korea, lack of teams/houses and grassroots.

I don't see how letting top Koreans travel to WCS is going to help solve any of those problems.

I don't see how taking low-tier korean players money will help develop the Korean Scene. And that's exactly what the missing region lock in Korea is doing. The same arguments why implement region lock in WCS now can be safely used for Korea. If you limit travel expanses then only rich Korean can travel as there are no longer any big teams(except JAGW) who can afford sending Koreans left and right. Because if the Koreans fail(and they can fail) then they're at lost.

Obviously the easiest solution is to lock the Korea too
I imagine France should be able to take this unless Lilbow is busy practicing for Starcraft III. | KadaverBB is my fairy ban mother.

Yes cause foreigners dominate Korean tournaments and Koreans barely get into the top 8 not.

Filter by my name, I did polls for day 3

Actually on second thought maybe don't trust those because everyone was voting 5 stars because of scarlett

Yeah don't trust the polls. For the finals from a pure gameplay standpoint game 4 was very good, games 1 and 2 were good but nothing exceptional, and games 3 and 5 were rather bad.

I would recommend Game 4, others ranged from decent to meh.
