Gumi is inconsistent as fuck, he can win GSL on a good day but on a bad day he loses to Zest and IA. Add the traditional slump of all GSL champs, and you get this.
And no, he is not a Horseman.

i hope iAs wins was on a stage or something

Man Gumi being so inconsistent is such a shame, he is the most interesting terran to watch because plays outside the box while every other terran and their mother's just do the same stuff.

Sometimes playing outside the box wins you GSL, and sometimes it gets you knocked out in the Ro16. Standard is standard because it's the best build that the professional consensus can come up with.

In theory standard is the best, but practice isn't so clean. For example TY's mech TvZ builds on New Gettysburg were the best strategy, but weren't the standard.

Standard is not always best ofc, but I'm inclined to think that it usually is. Creativity has its place (winning one finals for example), but the whole point of standard is that the meta adapts and incorporates good creative builds over time.

Great to see that Gumifail is the first to get knocked out in the RO16.

True.
Though tbh Gumiho has always struck me as a player who would be inconsistent even if he played standard.

Not confident Rogue can do anything from here. Up in upgrades but down in everything else

He doesn't have the kind of Korean Terran mechanics that make players, well Korean Terrans. So him playing weird and creative is the right choice for him, but I'm saying it is not the right one for most other players.

Isn't the fact that most players should play standard a tautology?
