Well despite today being very slow still much love for Nationwars organisers this tournament is epic and unique

Agreed, but the slowness made this pretty exhausting to watch.

Yeah, watching the entire thing was pretty exhausting. Super fun though.

That'd be really cool! I'd watch that.

I actually think this is a very good suggestion. Is there any tournament like that in LoL or other game?

LoL has nothing atm. But apparently Riot is thinking about something similar. But Korea in LoL is further ahead of the rest of the world than they ever were in SC2.

I don't think so actually. But national based competition seems to work rather well and imo proleague style > this format. (i mean you could also have a winners league round or something)
Maybe max of 12 nations though, more than that seems hard to pull off (probably even less tbh)

Great tournament though, really special and exciting even with the downtime issues today

The problem is that very few nations have 3 good players, which will make the results very predictable.

That's true ofc. Maybe not proleague style but round robin based Still if proleague style would somehow work i think it's better.

Hm yeah it's similar. I guess you would need to schedule it more tightly like nation wars did. As i said already, i simply miss proleague haha

Results are also quite predictable in tennis, basketball or Formula 1, and they still get very good audiences.

Hm i think as long as not every single result is predictable it is ok. Meaning if there is a reasonable chance to beat other teams it's ok if you are worse than the actual best teams, etc
Not every team in the competition has to be competitive enough to win the whole thing for it to be fun regardless.

Poor Solar, giving up his opportunity to get free cash here and ending up to drop out of his GSL group anyway.
Byun might be the next victim of "giving up" his own country next week.

The experience of attending a sporting event is quite different than watching it on your computer. People often pay for the experience rather than the excitement of not knowing the outcome.

The "traitor" of Korea will be punished no matter what, that group should be fun, DRGLing hype incoming.

I don't think he is necessarily talking about a live audience
