No not really, it's pretty useless to have 2 SGs if you're not going weird skytoss and your opponent isn't committing to phoenix. He made the best decision he could make, but it was just an unfortunately situation.
Stargate vs stargate is weird like that, part of the reason why I've stopped going for SG builds.
