Thanks Pande, but I think you'd better put the results in spoilers right away! Thread will be marked as a "spoiler" once the games begin

Also the winner of the elimination match has more time to prepare for the decider match than the loser of the winners match does. I don't really think you should get an advantage (small as it may be) from going through the loser bracket.

But I still think the results should be in spoilers, since the link for the vods is right below them. Also a big part of these threads has always been that people would check them for recommended games.
Please let's just go back to how the threads have always been with the results in spoilers :/.
Edit: Just check last year's threads like
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/sc2-tournaments/497820-wcs-global-finals-day-2-2015
This is how they've always been, why would we stop putting the results in spoilers?

Ha I forgot how sick the OPs for last year's Blizzcon were.

Well, always know that you are a literal god!
But I have to wonder, the decision to not put the results in spoilers doesn't seem be connected to your lack of time? I can completely understand that recommended game polls are too much work, but spoilers are just 1 click.

Yea it makes the post extremely ugly and pointless if they are not in it. Anyway i am asking for a discussion about it with higher ups. Reasoning we left it as it was it because the post was going to be labeled as a spoiler from Thursday thus keeping people away from the thread if they are in spoiler free mode. Your point about the VOD situation is noted, but its just a link to standard blizzard vods which i don't think are spoiler free anyway...I will get this discussed of course though.

But the results are in it, just in spoilers right? The thing the baffles me is that it has been this way for years and nobody ever said it's ugly or pointless. The main reason for the thread is still a live dicsussion, so it will never be pointless! The second most important reason for LR threads have always been vod links and recommended matches for me, both lose their meaning if the results are not spoilered.
Anyway, thanks for all the hard work and don't let me bother you, just curious :D.
Edit: One more point is, that people might check the OP just to see who is playing, without wanting to know who won. Just to know if they are interested in the players/games and might want to check the vods or results.

It's too bad the round of 16 isn't open to the public... I live relatively close to the Burbank studio would have been nice to see these games in person

I'm not sure what it is, but Group B has me the least excited. I'm super stoked for Groups A and D and I quite like C as well. But B, I just look at and go "Eh." So I hope they prove me wrong and show those "Good games" I hear so much about.

I agree in general but Zest is in there so i still am somewhat excited for it just because i want him to do well.

I am worried about Stats and Zest. Snute's ZvP and Neeb's PvP are pretty good.
TY and Solar should be able to auto-win in Group D. Dark and Dear should not have any problem, either.
|
hype! terrible time for me to try to watch the games though
|
AWW Yeah! Predictions! Dark and Stats to advance. Zest and Neeb to advance.
|
It's neat when you have a foreigner like Neeb in a group like that and you're not sure who's going to go home first.
|
Dark>>>>>>>>>Ptit Stats>>>Snute Zest>True Patience>Neeb
The latter 2 will be close as hell however. After seeing Zest's bio video I want him to win now so I have to favor him :/

Day 1: group A & B matches 1 and 2 and the elimination matches, Day 2: group C & D match 1 and 2 and the elimination matches, Day 3: Winners matches, Day 4: Decider matches
That translates to 6 BO3 matches on days 1 and 2 each, and 4 BO3 matches on days 3 and 4 each. If they did regular GSL format they'd have had 5 matches on each day.
I prefer this format. Means no one can get eliminated on day 1/2. So guys in the loser bracket actually have time to prepare, In GSL format players have to prioritize who they wanna practice for most out of the 3 opponents.

Group A: Dark Stats Group B: Patience TRUE
