You should be able to play in the SEA one, let the admins know I think it should be OK.

In the WCS Server qualifiers they let me play in NA (I think because they thought i should play SEA) And then after that i asked this from David Kugelmann(Product Manager for WCS) And he told me to play EU, I'm so confused right now

Not sure about the exact location but the open bracket will be on location in Shanghai, I don't know the date right now.

Do organisers not know ilovealtaria=MajOr? He's seeded so low

The bracket is random and not working with seeds.
As there is not a complete round 1, some players are randomly seeded in round 2. Hard to make a "seeded so low" from that.

They seeded everyone else. He should be #1 or #2 so he avoids Kelazhur until WB Finals

And what makes the difference? He meets him in Round 2 and the Grandfinal or in WB Final and Grandfinal. Lol.

Both liquipedia AND challonge bracket are in the OP, and the LP link is up on the sidebar.
|
Thanks a lot, wasn´t aware it is the latin amercian qualifier, but makes sense!
|
I hope other games are going to be better (there is simply no way you should ever lose a reaper in a 1v1 situation in the middle of the map, if your opponent got off first shot you just run away till you regen again).
Edit: That bracket, this should be done in two hours or so .
|
Atm Darkness/CatZ/JimRising are all sleeping which is why they aren't playing the latin qualifier might be better for next time to do qualifier a little later in the day cause on west coast its only 10am when it began

It is their own fault at this point, asking for someone to be up for 10 am can hardly be call to early, maybe the communication was not the best I don't know for that.

swarmhosts vs ultraliks wtf!

swarm hosts could easily be tweaked to be interesting again. lower supply, lower cost, something. :/ hope they do something about them eventually.

I've never heard FearDragon (the caster) before, but I think he's doing a really good job commentating. Good enthusiasm and awareness and constant stream of consciousness.
The only criticism is that he's in the Overhype Major Camp. Wayyy too much overhyping of Major, even before the game started. "Major just decides to start playing StarCraft 2 after he's tired of Pokemon and just wins everything". Seriously? It's 2016 and people still think that Major will become a top foreigner and- to make matters worse- they treat him like he's already a top foreigner. He's never been a top foreigner; he's never even won anything besides some Copa/ Latin American tournaments, which has absolutely zero of the top players. Potential means nothing unless it's realized and turned into results.
|
Feardragon's doing a pretty damn good job.
Really glad that it's "Basetrade TV" finally instead of just being "Rifkin and ZG's casting channel."
|
Okay FearDragon apparently thinks that Patience is spelled Pacience and got way off topic on the way letters sound. Not really sure why...

Yeah I agree. I don't mind Rifkin but it's always nice to have variety.

Not disappoint? Between team consistency, tournament/ match results, and #passion, that's literally the opposite of Major I'll take HuK, Scarlett, and everyone else who's actually earned some recognition

Major just doing his thing.. Erik just got manhandled

who did the seeding and why are kelazhur and major not meeting in the wb final?

I like that ghost strat. Its basically protossing the protoss. What is the DT rush to the toss, is the ghost rush to the terran.

I just heard it on Xiaose's stream the invited are Mlord, PtitDrogo, IA and Xigua?
How is the invites decided? It feels a bit random to me.
Edit: also it seems that whoever got invited will got WCS points just because they got invited? That's not fair imo

No that has never been the case, invited players must advance one round to receive points, it has been like this since 2013.

It is just not listed on the page, the rule has been in the WCS rulebook since 2013.
|
Digmouse is right: One core rule is to obtain WCS rule you need to advance one round. Qualifiers count as one round: Thus qualified players get WCS points even getting kicked out in Ro16, while invited players need to advance.
Drogo is the last WCS Circuit Event champion. MLord is the best Terran outside of korea at the moment (at least for me) and this event wount have alot of terrans to begin with. IA and Xiagua can be counted as top or the top chinese Zergs.
The event needs a high amount of chinese participation, 1 TW, 1 CN + 4 offline Qualifier CN players are not enough, I can understand the chinese invites.
So KingKong has a korean flag in Liquipedia, but he has another passport or? Because else he wouldnt be able to play in the qualifier?

So the invited player can only get wcs points if they advance one round while qualified players can get at least 150 points Good to hear.

Yay Dimaga! 1-1 vs. Harstem right now.

Dunno why they stated that harstem was ahead, when clearly the muta/coruptor composition was giving Dimaga a huge lead, especially on this map.

This kind of bracket works exactly that way: if you are in loser you've to try till the morning! Always happens with TING tournament. But this should be a EU event!

or early disruptors ?
yeah disruptors very good choice vs Tefel's way of playing.

Yuck the disruptor shots...

yay Ruins of Seras...
Tefel played very bad though after he got a lead due to ShoWTime's overly safe build, he had a 60 supply advantage with mutas vs no phoenix and only 1 overcharge left at some point, and he just lost everything in a horrible fight.

Its over, half the players are tilted before they even run into zergs

I don't know how much I like that robo style from ShoWTime. It's definitely interesting but it feels so risky

MaSa can due to long residency. Polt and Violet are not citizens of the US

Wow Showtimes run was pretty impressive...

How does it make sense that Polt et al. can play in the actual WCS, but not in one of the satellite tournaments? Like this they don't have access to half the potential WCS points, how is that fair competition? Either have them allowed in everything or in nothing at all like the rest of the Koreans. Doing it half arsed like this doesn't make sense at all.
|
"Forster new talents" "Help EU and NA scene" ... you know why.
But still, Polt et. al. could play in the Shanghai event. They either need to catch a invite or play in the offline qualifier... which is held in Shanghai.
Feels strange to me. Polt skipped Dreamhack Leibzig because he didnt want to travel, but he traveled to IEM Taipeh (with much harder oppononents) and now wanted to qualify for Shanghai. I dont understand him.

Wowow KoMa 2-0 Neeb. Surprising. Them 2base marine-tank timings.

I start the Neeb fanclub and he gets 2-0 by Koma... I think I'm bad luck.

I think this guy on reddit pretty much makes it clear. https://www.reddit.com/r/starcraft/comments/46yamm/polt_violet_unable_to_play_in_wcs_shanghai_north/d08qiag
In short, WCS Championship is residence restricted and WCS events is citizenship restricted.

Wow who is Koma!?
I'm pretty excited about these brackets, I think it'll be Canada vs US in both winners semifinals and both Losers Round 5. Fingers crossed that HuK can upset Neeb.

Koma is this Terran who's been around for a while and has been getting better lately. He beat Scarlett in a different qualifier not too long ago and some other good players I think

He's always been around as a mid-tier NA player, he played for Complexity back when they supported a roster with players like Ryze and Trimaster (damn thats a blast from the past)

I wonder when EJK can go far with his mech play

KoMA joined the Neeb fan club hours before beating him... This is the most ironic fan club turn of events since Scarlett beat elfi.
I guess this result isn't particularly surprising considering the majority of people left in this qualifier are in fact Neeb fan club members.

Pssh, starting the fanclub isn't bad luck SGTK. Being a filthy traitor to your country is bad luck you yank loving bastard.
+ Show Spoiler +Kidding. You're awesome. America is awesome. Both Neeb and State are awesome but fortunately not as awesome as Scarlett... I hope.
Edit: Oh by the way. They introduced Scarlett as Acer. That's no longer correct I believe, right?

Ah right, it was Nerchio who is no longer on Acer. That's what I was thinking of.

CANADA ZERG TOO STRONK!
Scarlett with NoRegrett builds, by CanZerg powers combined anything is possible!!!!
Edit: And now channeling her inner Fruitdealer!
Oh god. That proxy hatch was dirty... That wasn't a fun cutesy Catz proxy hatch.
That was a full-on, like if HuK or Has or sOs, played Zerg, that'd be their build. That felt like a protoss cheese almost more than a Zerg cheese haha. Specially when that pylon went down. Savage!

Looool 21 drones dead in 1 archon shot. RIP Scarlett
edit: sometimes I'm glad when I'm wrong

That was magnificent.
This game doesn't seem to be a good one for workers.

When you lose 20 workers to splash damage you just have to use splash damage to kill twice that many.
|
Ugh. The infamous rally to a worker so your workers are following it. It's still as painful to see.
|
Scarlett holds off the early aggression and then overdrones like mad.... sigh
|
The Daedalus Point style wall-off proves ineffective. I hate this map pool.
edit: That last game looked like one of my ladder games. State got utterly annihilated.
|
Thank you based Scarlett for letting us go to sleep!

Yes, I got that. My point is that doesn't make any damn sense.

...these post-qualifiers dq decisions are kinda totally illogical: if you admit someone to play in a qualifier you cannot wait for it to end to decide if a player was eligible / not eligible to play in something he has already played (wheter the player qualified or not)... you can (should?) prevent this or you have to go along with its results whatever comes out: this "middle-way" is just annoying for every part involved...

According to the offical message, Gold Series International 2016 will "start" on March 8 though in fact, it is the beginning day of Ro16 of Gold Series International 2016 Chinese Qualifier. It means the beginning of the live event. the live stream may be www.douyutv.com/wcs
|
So not on calendar and no english stream.
