Anyway, Byul is the clear favorite going into this match, but TY will have stuff prepared. I'm sure that with all the KT brain power behind him, he can find enough tricks to beat Byul. Gogogo Tae Yang !
TY cant read the meta as well as Flash and his decision making is weird sometimes but his multitasking can carry him to the victory with a close score. If he loses the first couple of games however he will fall apart and will be humiliated by Byulwja

Problem is that you can really only tech switch into muta, since roach-hydra-viper has so much trouble engaging a mech army that's already in position, especially if you make it all at once - you wont be in position yourself.

I wouldn't call that abusing the map, he's simply using the terrain in one of the ways I assume it was attended to be used. Also, Byul had vision with an overlord at the ice, he should've seen the entire army but still did nothing.
Seeing TY at Blizzcon would be part-crazy, part-great. I hope it happens, TY is just a very fun player to watch. Imagine the kinds of builds he might throw down if he prepares at all like he has for PL in the past

It's always the mistakes that make a game exciting. I definitely prefer the scrappy games with mistakes, second guessing, overextensions, etc. The mechanically brilliant, perfect decision games are interesting, sometimes simply stunning, but games like these make me laugh and keep me riveted.
TY messed up big time when he pushed deep in Byul's territory. He should have scanned non stop to see on what Byul remaxed. And backup once he saw the broodlords and corruptors.

the games overall might have been "bad" with both players trying to throw and unable to close it out. but there were some very cool micro moments, harass, and multi-task from TY that make it always fun to watch.

To be fair, two players both making mistakes can create some pretty exciting games. Sometimes when two players are playing incredibly well the games can be terribly boring, especially when it's turtle-mech vs. Zerg.

To be fair, two players both making mistakes can create some pretty exciting games. Sometimes when two players are playing incredibly well the games can be terribly boring, especially when it's turtle-mech vs. Zerg.
it's better to watch a train wreck of a game then watch a game where you know the result at the end of a 40 minute mech game within the first 10 minutes :/

Well i dont think you can actually win the fight in terms of resources lost unless the Terran move commands. But the fight Byul took was good, yes he lost everything but he killed 2/3 of the terran army. Which is enough to win with the remax in this case and almost the best you can hope for

As for ByuL, 2nd starleague finals this year and an absolute badass in proleague, great stuff

one of the best / most fascinating BOx series I've watched in a while.
edit: yeah... also really bummed for TY. would have been his first big Final. a couple of those losses were from absolutely amazing positions where he overextended too much and ended up just barely getting beat. bit of a shame, but that's how it goes. he's been getting better and better, so I'm actually really looking forward to seeing him tear up the individual leagues next year. his micro has been looking especially impressive, and his multitasking as well. does seem to be the occasional bad reads and key mistakes late-game which have been holding him back. something which he can learn from and eventually overcome.
