Maru didn't notice Nydus. Dark quick 4 base, maru early harrass not great, 3 base parade push vs 4th dark, fails, dark wins with ling counter. | ||

Yeah, if Dark makes it past the Maru hurdle I think he easily crushes Trap. herO on the other hand.. | ||

Maru didn't see it even when in vision. G2: Both players went heavy macro, Maru with some banshee harass. Parade push vs 4 base zerg, Dark sent speedlings to kill off reinforcements and Maru had to back off. That gave Dark time to muta harass vs no turrets and Maru just fell apart, lost last big push ~180 supply to ~130. | ||

So, in this situation, I don't believe Maru felt or calculated he could take the time and money to invest in defensive things. pretty much the same thing could be said about Zerg's not counter attacking as much - if they do counter attack in any meaningful way, they instantly lose if there's a full bunker, maybe a widow mine, and the push at the same time, so you can only do that in low numbers or when the game's going passive, which is what Dark does (or go full Leenock/TRUE and make 60 banelings before making mutas) | ||
