It's hard to stay awake in even an epic symphony, I've dozed off many a times. Then again, it's easy to get comfy at Avery Fisher Hall.
I've nearly fallen asleep during a symphony I was actually playing in. But it was one that had the brass coming in about once every 16 bars or so, it was a little bleh.

Damn, I can't remember the name of it either. But it is one with a running gag where the rest of the orchestra is reading newspapers while the strings are plucking away; used in a bunch of old cartoons too.

Trumpet players are just guys that can't handle a French Horn properly and get confused by a fourth key.
I play french horn as well. Only common brass instrument that I haven't played in an organized band is trombone
Trombone is tricky because of hitting the positions correctly without being all loose with the slide. Although I've only actually played french horn (and marching variants), trumpet, and flute in actual performances, not counting my flirting with the sousaphone during a stint on stage for The Music Man or the tympani during rehearsals, or just about every other woodwind for giggles at times.
Me trying to play stringed instruments of any kind works out like that medivac over the widow mine. Spectacular explosions.
