they are bad.

Here we go again

They haven't won 4 GSLs, an MLG, blizzcon, an IEM, a WCS EU and a WCG

So they suck, yeah

Comparing anyone to mvp is a little unfair lol

Neither of them got to 4 consecutive GSL Finals.

Do you think 2011 mvp had a more impressive run with 8 tournament wins including an almost flawless gsl or soo's 4 gsl finals in a row and a likely flawless dreamhack?

If soO wins this gsl then soO 's run is more impressive. This is the year 2014 and the game has been figured out a lot more than the year 2011

I never understood that argument that it's more impressive because the game is more figured out, is figuring things out and innovating not impressive at all or something?

Yeah, actually you could defend the opposite conclusion that dominating when the game is still mostly terra incognita is more impressive because it shows how ahead of your time you were.

On a serious note do you not think the game is still being figured out?

Even at the end of WoL, things were being figured out. First was using the blink stalker into storm hargelot style that didnt see play again until a month ago.

Gumiho and Dream were really pushing out what could be done with multit-task and micro before Seed Medivacs made it so that everyone could do what they did.

Probably soO. I think 2012 Mvp's run was more impactful though, (not because of results) but because of what he was fighting.

Broodlord Infestor? His 2012 GSL win was a TvP and before the BLinfestor era, then he lost vs Life, and didn't do that well in other GSLs.

Personally I think mvp was a bit like batman, he fought against injustice and succeeded. Compared to soo who lost 3 times in a row to protoss.

Not the role model I will be showing to my kids for sure.

That soO win over Zest was real Mvp like though.

Imagine if he beats INno ; loses to Protoss, beats a crowd favorite Terran. Moves on to being hated by everyone and doesn't get any recognition. Life ain't easy for a Zerg named soO.

The blink -> charge/storm playstyle was always around since then, especially HerO/Oz did it all the time

I don't think the meta should even be relevant. The greats from previous "eras" should be compared to their peers.

no doubt MVP dominated his peers but since we are comparing the difficulty of two runs, we should look at the meta and talent pool and balancing. The fact that soO did so well in the protoss domination era is very impressive.

His wrists, TvP (He invented multiple builds/styles that became standard after his run including hellion marine medivac harass and scv pulls). He created Mech TvZ. He lost to Life a player that went on to win 5/8 Premier tournaments in the next 6 months.

And he did all of it at a time where I would have argued (and still do) that he was far away from being the best player in the world. There were so many other players that were better than him mechanically. But Mvp just kept on winning.

Not bl-infestor. Spinal and wrist issues in a protoss favored meta vs terran.

66k for Hearthstone. Which is the main Dreamhack event. And with Artosis showing more passion than I've seen in a while, including calling this Dreamhack Hearthstone the best esports event ever.

The filthy traitor.

In Artosis' defense, he is the reigning Hearthstone World Champion from last Blizzcon.

He chose HS over the best Protoss and the best Zerg player dueling each other.

I think soO would have much more of a dominant aura if we still had WCS Season finals and he performed well in those

Still mad they were removed, so many classic moments from those
