The best thing regarding this tournament was Huk whining on Twitter that they did not have EU/NA qualifiers
Its not like extremly many talented players missed the play offs anyways

The tournament today was so extremly stacked. I see no logic in reserving spots for an NA/EU qualifier.
It would just force players like Parting, Life, TY and other great players that missed today to qualify on a laggy EU/NA-server. Its not like any foreigner had qualified among the competition we saw today.

To me it sounds just like whining to get easier spots due to fewer players signing up.

Just make it so that you can only play one qualifier and it must be your WCS region. Oh wait, then EU/AM/KR/... splitting regions would actually make sense, nevermind.

Well I am glad I get a tournament where all the best players play. Id much rather have such a tournament instead of the six best koreans vs the six best NA / EU - players.
Id rather see Flash, Soulkey, Parting, TY, Maru, Dear, Rain and others compete instead of watching these players crush Huk, State and Happy to then play vs each other. For that, I can watch Dreamhack or something.

I have WCS Korea for that. I'd rather for once have a tournament in which the top 8KR, top 8 EU, top8 AM and top8 CH play it out. (including all other regions in those, like Africa into EU, LA in AM etc...)

It's quite ironic, that you mention DH in this context, when the last time, Flash attended a Dreamhack, he didn't make it to the ro16 and got stomped into the ground by Dimaga.

To say something about the topic: I don't think HuK (or anyone else) was asking for region locked qualifiers, just for qualifiers distributed distributed on all servers, where everyone could participate. We very likely still would have an all korean line-up, but players like YoDa, who have beaten korean koreans on neutral ground would have had an equal chance.

The replies that this tweet's getting are pretty interesting wrt. this qualifier/tournament:

(Apologies if someone posted it when it was originally posted. This is the first time I've seen it because have just started replying to it again!)

Mr. Loranger should really stop whining. Frickin herO played 3 out of 4 days of RedBull qualifiers, playing from 4AM till like 9-10AM, playing cross-server for just a CHANCE of playing in the actual qualifier with 3 other players. And same goes for like Cure (granted, he played only 2 as he qualified), Journey (played all 4!), Solar (also all 4) and plethora of others!

But oh noes, someone once wants to do tournament with actual best players (which granted was not really handled that well - see the completely random brackets), but still... This type of whining is kinda unbelievable tbh.

But I think he has at least a little bit of a point. I think that, all tournaments should be holding qualifiers on EU server, NA server and KR server (with appropriate times) which are open to everyone though! That way you get some regional benefits, while still allowing the best players to compete in your tournament.

Hoping for as few T and Z mirror matches as possible in the first round of the main event -- better yet, also no TvZ's. Get rid of some of these Protosses, please.

I wouldn't judge him based on that, it's pretty common for people to ask stuff without reading the thread before. I remember telling about 10-20 different people in one Dreamhack LR, that the second group stage begins at 18:00 CEST.

yeah, and there's not much vods as most of them are not available in my country. that's why i'm asking for vods again, cause i can't watch the ones on esports tv.

so let me retort with a question of my own: not sure if u try to be stupid or it comes naturally?
