20.08 15 pool for Shine. A probe is there to scout and harass. 2.50 Nex first by Classic. Hatch finally goes down for Shine 3.11 Forge by Classic 3.20 Two lings out. 3.55 Third down by Shine. Probe run off by lings. 4.17 The lings run into the base as the cannon just barely finishes and the blocking probe is afk 4.45 Lings denying mining at the natural but soon a bunch of probes force them away 5.25 Stargate down. Drones and four more lings for Shine 6.40 Artosis tells a story about his maine coon in New Hampshire, aww. And the cat hardcounters chipmunks 7.12 Oracle and third base for Classic. +1 attack. 7.30 Roach Warren, lings and ling speed for Shine. Oracle warded off with two kills | ||

Each of those players has ended soO’s season in Korea just as the ultimate prize was within reach these past three seasons. No player has knocked on the door of WCS glory more than soO just to come up short each time. The old saying of “if you’re good enough to get there, you’re good enough to win it” may not have much meaning for this Zerg player who often survives more treacherous challenges before he reaches the championship series of GSL/WCS Korea. In Season 3, something has to give, right? There’s no way soO will be like the NFL’s Buffalo Bills of the early 1990s, a team that went to four straight championship games and lost them all. We’re at the point where soO is either going to break through convincingly or have his hopes and dreams crumble under their own weight early on in Season 3. That string of second place finishes in 2014 has him in the Top 16, but not nearly as comfortable as he’d like to be. If soO can avoid imploding early in Code S Season 3, he should quickly amass enough WCS points to secure his spot in Anaheim in early November. Then it’ll be up to him to dig deep and find enough to make a strong run at the Global Finals tournament itself, because finishing second there is it’s own special brand of cruel. | ||
