btw, none of the moves by Effort there were random. I've seen other Zerg players move in this exact way to draw out units to surround and kill while building up for the all-army kill and then sniping the nex.

Effort getting the probably hardest of hard counters in term of openers in the game and still makes it look pretty close. Even standard pool first into hatch is freewin vs nexus gateway.

i fucking love Tastosis but i imagine it has to be so off-putting if you watch a cast like this and know nothing about the starcraft scene. you'd have to be thinking "what in the world of fuck is Brood War and why are they fawning over this guy being so great at it and why did Artosis just say everybody except this Effort dude is too dumb and slow to build some zerglings and send them into the opponent's base?"

It's a popular build yeah just like hatch gas pool is in zvz or 3 hatch before pool is in zvp, doesn't mean those builds don't autolose to other builds.
