Talk about Canadian animals that will wreck you reminded me that I wanted to figure out how the Wolverine got such a badass name in French (Carcajou) when the French are usually so awful at naming things. I had long speculated that it was an Amerindian derivative.

Turns out I was correct. 'Carcajou' is derived from the Micmac term which means 'evil spirit'. Actual French people call them 'gloutons' or 'gluttons". Why anyone allows the French to name anything is beyond me.

My high school was pretty dangerous. Canadian Geese were everywhere and poop was everywhere. It was a mine field. I hear Waterloo is a mine field too..

Basically,

1. They're everywhere
2. They never REALLY leave
3. They poop everywhere
4. They nest everywhere
5. Geese are kinda big, so they're really inconvenient

Ok, but why are they at the university? I mean, everything I see around my uni are people and lasers, I couldn't imagine random geese running around everywhere.

I got bitten by a goose through a fence ages ago. I can confirm, that it was not a pleasant experience.

I've had a goose scream at me when I was in my car because I honked at him when he tried to commit suicide =.=

The only birds standing in front of my car without moving are pigeons. They don't recognize anything and also climb on hills, when they have wings. Dumbest animals I know.

Pigeons are actually reletavely intelligent.

That is weird. I have seen pigeons with working wings try to climb a hill (not more than 3-5m) for half an hour, which I personally found pretty dumb. Probably just different forms of intelligence. Anyway, at least at one level (the one I just mentioned) I still think, they can improve their intelligence.
