Don't tournaments like this usually have a rule that you have to let the official casters cast you if they want to..? Meh. They asked the admins, they said they can't enforce it. What's the point in having rules if you don't enforce them? No appearantly it's in the rules that they can't force him. Oh. That makes more sense than what I thought you were implying =P EDIT: It's still very strange though. It's kinda like an EPL football team refusing to give access to Sky Sports on match-day even though Sky Sports are helping to fund the teams/tournament. ESL are putting on a tournament with a large amount of money and so should be able to broadcast any game they want from the tournament (qualifiers are part of the tournament). If players don't like that then they just shouldn't play. If that means KeSPA players choose not to play then so be it. Given that other players don't seem to have a problem with it, this just makes Flash look like a bit of a diva... It is important to note that we nor Fenner are the 'official' ESL casters, so it's possible if he makes it to day 2 THEN they will force him to be cast. Could still be wrong. Haven't seen someone go far enough to deny the official stream coverage in the first place. Flash might be the first? TaKeTV is official and we are denied too. He apologized though. Still will probably rather quit than play. I think I've only casted him once.
Maybe it's less about official casters and more about day 1 vs day 2? I can't imagine the ESL stream saying 'oh sorry we can't cast Flash today'. x_x
* I guess I shouldn't have said we aren't the official stream, I don't know our titles. Maybe we are for today but not tomorrow? W/e

this qualifier has a better line-up than the last three major tournaments.
Also WEC qualifier going on at the same time with not quite as many good players but a lot of big old names

As you can see, in Korea there are no replays uploaded for the qualifier which actually IS a rule. If you make strict rules, KeSPa teams and lots of players simply won't play. I'm not saying he should be forced. I'm saying he should follow the exampe of literally every other player we've seen and not be a jackass. Wanting to play under best conditions is not being a jackass. Asking a player to not play under best conditions is ESL wants to provide good games. If you enforce replays, I am willing to bet money that the KeSPa players won't take part. Yeah I think it's fine if he worries about cross server lag, but the replay thing really ticks me off, always did. They can't just stand above the rules. If they don't want to play, don't, but follow the rules. They show disrespect imo, they would/could never do that in a KeSPA tournament. Mostly I am angry at ESL for not enforcing the rules though. Yeah I'd rather see them not take part then, I think they would come around eventually. Rules are rules and IEM and other foreign tournaments shoudl stop giving them special treatment or they will never change. Let them sit in Korea all year and sooner or later they will budge in I think. Yes and we will miss all brilliant games. Not the price I would want to pay.
I would, for a future were foreign tournaments are on equal ground with KeSPA and not at their mercy.
I guess we agree to disagree <3

Isn't it funny how these sub-optimal conditions ONLY seem to be affecting Flash? Not Maru, not Dear, not Bbyong, Roro, Marineking, Parting, not Flash's teammate in the KT Rolster team house TY, but somehow Flash can't play under this same single change?

Korean qualifier line ups for things like IEM always seem to be more stacked than the actual tournaments themselves. xD

The foreign scene cannot compete with KeSPa. Why would I watch lower level Starcraft if I can see the best of the best? You could put any foreigner in that grid and no one would make it. I am a fan of Starcraft and I want high level play, thats why I am a professional caster now. The price of not getting replays is no big price to pay to see such a tournament.

People are different yes. HyuN could still farm Zotac and Go4 cross server. INnoVation can play on EU but not on NA. Maybe Flash just feels slightest delay. Who are you to question him? He's the player and as a caster you don't feel the lag spikes or slightest delay, but as a player you will.
He goddamn measures his keyboard and mouse with a ruler, what do you believe are perfect conditions for him? Not a single bit different from what he is used which he simply asks to get. Perfectly fine.

Flash is also the only one who uses a Ruler to set up his keyboard. It just is what it is.

You are kinda ignoring my point about playing hard for a while, to get them to play in the future while following the rules. The foreign scene cannot compete in level of play, but foreign tournaments should be on even level with KeSPA as organisations. It's the korean scene that can not compete with the foreign scene when it comes to money. Sure we sacrifice some games right now, but the foreign market is too big for them to sit out forever. They would come around and finally we are on even terms.

And yet he agreed to play SHOUTCraft, in which he had no less than 3 casters from different parts of the world observing the games at any given moment.
