There is something abstract about skill that's not necessarily strictly mechanics or strictly decision making, but a player can most certainly come back stronger. If not, games would be getting worse in terms of skill which they are not, and players that lose would keep losing, and judging by the amount of players steadily improving or remaining at a high skill level despite high age (in Starcraft terms) that's not happening either. | ||
