I would actually say Naniwa did best against Korean competition. Stephano's GSL performance was quite bad, even though it was during bl-inf

It was after KeSPA switch. NaNiwa's was before.

This is a never-ending argument tbh...

MC!!!

You did it :D. Wasn't sure he could take Stardust.

Jjakji vs Vortix looks like it went about as expected. Figured Vortix would get 1 game though. Oh well.

The score isn't that indicative of the games though, G1 could (and maybe should) have gone to Vortix and game 2 was pretty weird. Game 3 was the only one, where Jjakji played clearly better.

I've always thought that Stephano made a big mistake by not going in GSL earlier. If he had tried it a year before (when he was at his peak), at the same time as NaNiwa, he would have had much more chances. Now it's too late, for sure.

This is the problem with most foreigners, they are capable of beating anyone, just very inconsistent. Stephano is the only real successful one (don't mention naniwa)

Did you see game 2 ? :/

Yep. Vortix couldn't figure out what it was, reacted wrongly, although he saw 2-3 marines which was unusual. Jjakji coinflipped and won. Game 1 was not scouting the flying CC.

was game 1 that close? i don't think that cc had a big impact. scvs were never transferred there and vortix found it in reaosnable time. i thought the game was heavily in jjakji's favour and slipping further and further that way since the first time he killed the 4th hatch.

There were no SCV's transfered, because there were no SCVs left. Vortix had a 30 worker lead (50-20) and than Jjakji out-macroed him with MULES. I'd say, the game would have probably gone to Vortix if he had flown his Mutas a few inches further, but than the one marine he found distracted him.

I still think it is important to remember that Stephano during his run only lost in GSL against one player, Bogus, who was on the verge of becoming the center of attention from the masturbations of many fanboys not long after this.
It is quite unfair to say he did very bad there when Naniwa beat mostly very accessible players (except for Genius maybe).

It's an unwinnable, never-ending argument. Just like people who maintain that NesTea was a god of sorts even though he beat almost exclusively bad players to win his titles.
