I actually think that the ace match is quite likely. If Creator can take out Cure - who only players macro - and MKP can take out TRUE, they should have pretty good chances.
Looks for prime. Finaly no choya for prime, and with MKP winning, Creator reking and Kassia looking for possible upset even 3-0 is possible. Remember Hydra-bane all-in... And DeParture may be able to take this. Prime please. Playoffs please
I'm predicting 3:1 in favour of jin air, with creator being the only one to win a match

Come on dude, there are so many tournaments with god awful times for kst in both Europe and America, they upload the matches in 1080p on youtube within a few hours, why complain about it :\
Just curious, is there a reason SPL LR threads don't include team standing? Maybe player W/L records too? (for those of us too lazy to check liquipedia...)

I don't mean the entire standings. Just showing the team record (the way most professional sports broadcasts do). (4-2)(2-3) etc.

Artosis is streaming Heroes of the Storm. Plus sOs won ANOTHER $100,000 if he didn't come back first class and paid for Rogue as well, he is VERY tight xD

maybe change forcefield mechanic - can only forcefield on open space (like buildig placement) - so you cant push scvs away from buildings, etc? Can still FF ramps, etc.... but itd be more defensive

I'm actually at the point where I want to start calling this current season's map pool, "Historically" imbalanced.
Seems almost every map has glaring balance issues.
also this map pool is staying in way too long. To prevent bullshit like this again Blizzard would need to start testing the maps for the next season about now. But afaik they are not so we probably get two new Daedalus Points and keep the rest of the pool or something...

There's a big conflict here for me though, I don't want another Daybreak/Cloud Kingdom situation where we see the same maps played for over a year. That's boring.
But this current situation is much worse.
There has to be some better solution than either extreme. Just have to find it.

Anyone know what happened to Kal? He looked like one of the best players of the team in Round 1 and now if they played him with MKP and Creator +1 changing spot they would have very solid team.. Don't think he has played at all during round 2 though and he isn't on the bench either?

he looked good in week 1 with BO wins and has looked bad every other time
Departure is 0-2 in zvp, vs terminator who is 1:0 this season, on the map which has a 42% win rate in zvp, I'd say its pretty certain terminator is going to win

Not really anything to be ashamed of especially considering how close the game vs Rain was.
His game vs. Life could have maybe looked completely different as well if that overlord didn't spot the SCV before 2nd rax have even been started.
Pretty certain Life would've won anyway. He's had Marineking's number since they first met, but yea that overlord just ended the game before it ever really got started.

Yea seems like I overestimated his record now that I looked into it but still, I'd still say he is probably better than KassiA, Departure etc that Prime keep playing I'm just afraid of more Prime players going missing.

Best of 1s are very similar to ladder, the way he plays (and his past ladder results) prove that his style is pretty good for that. Plus he has played so little televised HOTS that it's hard for his opponents to do the proper research.
I found sOs herO quiet enjoyable tbh, I really don't get all the hate on cheese. The way sOs played out the series was so beautiful to watch, he completely crushed herO on a mental level.

I do wish this too. But again it is very hard, probably harder than Code A mainly due to the bracket is random in Code B and you play your games straight off. In Code A you have several days to practice for specific maps in one match up xD

Just roach/hydra. I mean, when you get a lead, you should just play the most basic, stable composition and then transition from there on.
don't think he was even in a lead at all though right
I think I would take that deal usually, Protoss is so far away from any robo tech or VRs and at best can hit some very late archon/blink timing which he still has to build a ton of gates for too. Roaches would rule the map for a long, long, long time, you can very safely expand to a third, drone it up and tech to hydras/vipers.

Creator made a big blunder there chasing Maru's army when Maru could just pick up and drop his main, that and losing the first colossi just made the game snowball too hard.

So the weakness of protoss is that they tend to throw colossi away. I honestly wonder how the game would have looked if Creator had actually kept the first two colossi save.

The game was already over, but two mine shots put the nail in the coffin by killing a big bunch of zealot, further proving that as fun as they are, they still are quite unreliable (Because tbh some time they backfire as hell with chargelots). (As also proven by one of polts game where the momentum completely tilted when the zealot buff staight up disappeared)
But anyway, I'm still on my honeymoon with mines in TvP, so I love it for now

Well the mines made it much easier in the end. Do you know how many games I've seen where terrans snipe the 2nd and 3rd of protoss and just die to the counter all in?

a few nice mine shots did seal it for him
The game was pretty over by the time that happened
the game was over the moment creator put down the 2 forges -.- he lost on the exact same map some days ago against bbyong trying to play a macro game aswell. the only difference was, that bbyong isn't maru, so the game lasted a bit longer

Mines definitely helped Maru here
I swear I must have seen another game.
well at the very end when creator was pushing out with 2-2 chargelots and a colossus against 1-0 bio, he kinda crushed maru's army til walking into the mine though, it could have been closer

To be fair, Maru was going for a macro game too... Creator just decided to die to early pressure.

So the weakness of protoss is that they tend to throw colossi away. I honestly wonder how the game would have looked if Creator had actually kept the first two colossi save.
I think the army trades evenly and Creator probably ahead due to upgrades. Maru drops to buy time for Vikings and creator gets Templar tech, then Maru gets ghosts and a few mines and it comes down to the big battle between mines, ghosts, storm.

Creator had 1 colossus when the fight at the watchtower happened. Not sure if he even had range. 1 colossus counter attack on cross spawn Frost is not scary at all.

Nah, creator lost multiple colossi. No way Terrans dies after sniping 2nd and 3rd goes down as well as 2 colo. Even with upgrade advantage, you still need to colo DPS.

THat is what I meant, Maru would have won the game due to the micro madness and creator overly greedy. The mines were unncesary buffed imho, it makes Zealots that cost 100minerals look like individual zerlings...

The mine buff is to counter Templar openings that rely heavily on mass Zealots with upgrades.
Against Collosus play with small Zealot numbers the Mines are completely unnecessary, against huge Zealot/Archon numbers is what they are intended to be used for.
See Dear vs Maru. That series shows just what the devs had in mind for them. It helps a lot at countering the sheer cost efficiency of Templar midgame builds.

Yeah but the thing is there are no options anymore for protoss, just one route tosses have to go for. robo -> colossi.

That hasn't been the case from what I've been seeing. Still seeing plenty of High Templar usage before Collosus tech, especially with how common Blink openings are Templar are the logical transition path if the all in fails or does damage enough to put you ahead.
And plus it isn't as though the Mines make Zealot/Archon play COMPLETELY unusable, it just helps the Bio force deal with it until Ghosts are able to be fielded.
All Jin Air needs is 1 player other than Maru to win and he will win the ace match at least against the lesser teams. Think it was a mistake for them to send him out in their last match where they ended up getting 3-0'd

I heard that they have a guy who won $100,000 twice.

Well normally they'd have sOs and Rogue has been performing well for them recently too but they were both in Poland for IEM. If there's one thing Jin Air lacks it's depth. They have the smallest roster for PL and really out of that roster of 7 they have 3 solid players, but seeing as this is their first PL season as Jin Air rather than Team 8, they had less renown and probably money compared to the other teams. Heck they were probably quite lucky to even pick up sOs and Maru in Pre-season.
I'll agree with you on sending Maru out last against MVP, I'd have sent him out as a surefire lead just because he was the best on that line-up. A win from Maru could've been a good morale booster for guys like Terminator who is capable of winning matches

I was talking specifically about these matches (I probably should have been more specific) where they will not have sOs or Rogue. Really need to have Maru sent out early to get a win and confidence so the B teamers can pull through and win 1 of 3 matches.

Frost and Habitation Station are the only maps I actually want them to keep when this season is over.
The others can all go as far as I'm concerned.
Habitation station needs to go, its ludicrously strong with certain strats vs zerg and terran for protoss.
Honestly expecting another teoita article on pvt strategies involving proxy oracle into gold natural
Yeah, Poor Habitation Station being just so damn imbalanced...
TLPD Stats:
TvZ: 46% Terran Wins 29 - Zerg Wins 34
ZvP: 51.1% Zerg Wins 47 - Protoss Wins 45
PvT: 54.9% Protoss Wins - 39 Terran Wins 32
Guys over at sc2replaystats gave me these numbers, which involves all types of games from bronze - GM.
I'm all for changing up the map pool but to complain about Hab Stat saying Protoss has so many "ludicrously" strong builds when overall Zerg has a higher win ratio and terran is only 4-5% behind is ridiculous. Heck, these stats are before the MSC / Widowmine changes so I'd expect the PvT matchup to be even closer now.

That's great, the stats show that it's probably the most balanced map in proleague, but that doesn't mean that certain strats on this map aren't stupid, or that people aren't taking advantage of them. ZvP on this map is basically: Protoss expands to the nat: expand to third and collosus push OR take the gold as nat and 2 base immortal all in on steroids, zerg then responds by having the ultimate mid game swarmhost map, if neither of them successfully occur a counter push ends the game, or it stabilises into a 45min+ sh vs tempest game. Why on earth should that be the sort of map you want? There are maps with stats that are far worse and yet I think this is the second worse map in the proleague pool before yeonsu.
Idk why I responded to you tbh, I don't think you'll agree with me, and I'm not changing my mind any time soon.

Strategies can't both be too strong and statistically balanced; by definition.
What it sounds like is that you dislike long, drawn out, map position dependent PvZ games that involve SH and believing your preference translates to facts.
Wow such good results for both my FPL team and MKP fanboyness : MKP still beating relatively established players despite his hiatus from the game, having Creator/Maru/MKP/Jin Air in my main team it could not have gone better!
I only saw the TvZ live today but I feel like these days maps (didn't watch starcraft for quite some time) make for better matches (spectator wise and probably player wise too) than those in WoL, it's refreshing to see.
