Soulkey 2-0 Dear Maru 1-2 Soulkey Zest 1-2 Dear Maru 2-1 Dear I don't understand the hype everyone is giving Zest. He swept SKT1, yes, but I still don't think he has proven himself. Especially with the P nerfs/Z,T buffs, I think he won't stand a chance vs the three players, who although may not be as good as they were last year, are still easy contenders for the best players of their respective races. Even Dear, who has been playing subpar recently, I think can play better than Zest. Then again, Zest beat Maru in PL... and then lost to Bbyong. Hmmm... maybe I am discrediting Zest, but IMO his play doesn't stand up to PartinG's or sOs's. There have been plenty of games that have just been mediocre. Soulkey I think still is in top form... PL isn't going great for him but he demolished in the Ro32. Dear and Maru were both shaky in their groups, but to be fair, their groups were quite difficult, with Maru having to go up against an on fire Classic and Dear an on-fire Life (still, this speaks about Dear's PvZ, as Life and Soulkey are quite comparable). Zest, while going 4-1, didn't have quite as difficult opponents. PvP is a cointoss (Trap is quite a good player), and those games were close, but beating Leenock isn't a huge accomplishment, not so much as beating Squirtle (in Soulkey's case). I feel like Maru is more resilient then people think. As for Dear... while I hope he gets back to WCS S3 form, I don't think his play will be enough. As for people saying this is the biggest group of death yet, while at first I was inclined to agree, I think that last year's group of death in the first WCS KR is stronger. While this one may have ALL THREE GSL champs from last year (oh, if only RorO was in it too  ), last year's group had players with more momentum and hype. None of these players have the momentum of INnoVation, who looked nearly unstoppable (and proved it), or the hype of Flash... and with PartinG and Life throwing punches, it was too good. Additionally, at the time Life was widely considered to be the strongest zerg and Parting was considered to be the best protoss, and although at the time INno wasn't considered the strongest terran, when he left that group, few could question he was the best. Soulkey is probably the best zerg around right now along with Life, but I wouldn't call Dear, Maru, or Zest unquestionably the best of their races.Either way, I'm super stoked. This is gonna be a boss group. | ||
