This group... Maru is pretty good when he can prepare for his opponents as shown in Proleague and WCS. I'm leaning towards Soulkey and Maru pushing through.

Has Lichter also come to the conclusion that sense is meaningless?! IIRC the only series that didn't live up to the hype was Inno vs Flash, and even then I don't remember it being bad, just not the endless macro wars we were all hoping for.
This group might produce higher quality games, but unless Maru plays out of his mind, I don't see the "Terran hope" storyline touching the drama of PartinG calling out Life, Life calling out Inno, and Inno calling out Flash, and then PartinG putting forth a dominant performance in some really high-skill back and forth games.

Oh, well I can't argue with that.
It still angers me to the very fabric of my essence that neither of them made it out of that group. Reminds me of some series from S1 last year, I think it was TvT, where the same thing happened. Three epic slugfests and then both players get knocked out of the group because they gave that series everything they had. Wish I could remember who it was.

Imo a lot of it was hype feeding hype, but I think the quality of play was also a lot better than most Code S groups and the games were probably about as good as could be reasonably expected.
There's no way this group will match the hype of last year's, but you could certainly make a case that it's deadlier. We'll see how the games turn out.
