Wouldn't be that unlikely. Maru has trouble with strong zerg players and Classic is no slouch either.

Classic is scary but he's also a Protoss which is easily Maru's best match up. Only way I see Maru losing is if Symbol shows absolute top form and if Classic cheeses him out. Possible, but not likely enough for me to be too worried.

I also hope Artosis and Tasteless won't hype him too much, mentioning his PL record or saying he has great TvP etc.

So it's really only one Zerg that Maru has to worry about.

All it really took, was just some bad decision making from Myungsik and True. Late third and no Templar? Hope he doesn't SCV pull! Mech? Better make 35 Swarmhosts and pray the mech army will die cause I made more Swarmhosts than I realistically would ever need. Won a massive battle convincingly? Better crash Banelings into Thors nonstop and ignore scouting for a 4th base. Banelings on Thors worked, but Terran still hasn't left? Gotta smash more Banelings into Thors to make a bigger statement of how ahead I am! Honestly, the games were pretty abysmal today... I don't know why anybody in their right minds would consider Match 5 Game 2 one of the best games of the year. It was as bad as it gets. Bbyong opens blue flame Hellions, gets scouted, and trades evenly with Zerglings. The only consolation is that he forced a Roach Warren and like 3-6 Roaches were in production (was too busy watching the Hellions run themselves in a corner constantly and crying my eyes out). Then he tries a second runby, only True had 11 Roaches on top of the Speedlings, and the trade was even worse. Zerg maxes with a big mineral bank of around 2.5k and around 800 gas. Terran pushes across the map towards a Zerg base and gets spotted, prompting a ton of Banelings. Banelings finish, Terran gets caught, loses all his Widow Mines for like 6-8 Banelings, and Zerg rolls the Terran army all the way back home. Zerg comes back with a maxed attack containing a ton of Banelings, and blows a ton of Banes on Thors, never scouting the mostly saturated and mining 4th base. Zerg continues to play cocky (not making units, sitting on 2.5k minerals, 150 supply, and 700 gas), gets owned by drops, Terran macros up second army, and said second army rolls over Zerg because he actually splits his Widow Mines this time since he didn't get caught in the middle of the map. Zerg has less Banelings, and said Banelings die to well-placed Mines. True takes a minute to cry about his mistakes, and taps out. It was literally a game thrown to True, who I guess felt dirty for the free win, so he threw the game back to Bbyong as hard as he could. Total credit to Bbyong for the good drop play though, but he realistically would've been dead if True spotted his 4th base BEFORE he threw 2 maxed armies of Banelings into Thors and stopped macroing. Then again, if we reversed a lot of this... Then it makes sense. TvP is statistically Bbyong's best matchup. TvP isn't really plagued by Terrans being pinned to a particularly bad opener (it's not amazing, but it's not like the time when 3 Gate Sentry expand was deemed a suicide build), but instead by Protoss having a very good build (2 Base Blink all in/poke/expand). And it will be Bbyong trying 4 different builds that all work in theory, but get shit-stomped by the same 2 Base Blink build 4 times in a row. And it wouldn't be an established GSL champion, so Parting? or CJ Entus herO? NOW it all makes sense. Or are we talking that Bbyong is NesTea in that story? In which case, I can also see a development where Terrans figure out a legitimate counter build to Blink, but the Protoss finalist who was so dependent on it (CJ Entus herO - my fucking God, what an abuser) didn't know any other builds and straight up uses it 4 times to die. Hmmm... I think I actually like this development! Too bad it'll probably never happen.

Not thrilled to see Parting through, but better than nothing. It's a fucking joke that Bbyong advanced from this group while Supernova went last in his. These groups this season are not even comparable. lol, are you serious? TRUE and MyungSik didn't play well today for sure, but these groups looked pretty even when they were released. Let look at the group Zest, Trap, Leenock, SuperNova - 1 Top 8 from last GSL, 1 first in Code A group (Zest) and 2 seconds PartinG, TRUE, MyungSik, BByong - 1 Top 8 from last GSL, 2 first in Code A group (TRUE, BByong) and 1 second So BByong's could group could be argued to be stronger since they had 2 code A #1 finishers PartinG vs Trap - I think this is equal at best and I think most would give the edge to PartinG TRUE vs Leenock - Leenock is definitely the bigger name, but what has he done lately? his latest high finish was Top 8 at HSC and before that, it was Dreamhack in Apr 2013. TRUE finished #1 in his Code A group while Leenock got second. Let's call it a draw. MyungSik vs Zest - Remember the groups were made before Zest AK SKT. Zest was 2-4 in PL, Although he did well in IEM qualifiers but he kind of bombed in IEM New York. Same for MyungSik, won an IEM qualifer and bombed in the actual IEM. Slight edge to Zest. So no, the groups were actually pretty comparable. And SuperNoVa can't exactly complain since he was in group with Coca and TheBest to get his Code S spot...

Only MC was the "Oh he'll obviously win" as Intotherainbow and Boxer were heavy favorites to win both Season 1 and 2 while Rain was the iconic villain that could have easily given us the bad boy middle finger of "I don't care if I cheese each round, you'll still watch in hopes I lose!" (too bad he chickened out from this role)
