I think IEM usually does draws for quarters.
Hmm that's a shame because then you can get rematches from the groups right?

They will play the second place players, HerO, Jjakji, Jaedong, and TBD, in some combination (probably 1st A/2nd D, 1st B/2nd C, 1st C/2nd B, 1st D/2nd A) which would make the matchups Rain vs TBD, Patience vs Jaedong, Polt vs Jjakji, and Innovation vs HerO. Or just have Acer send him everywhere either works Oh yeah, I keep forgetting these tournaments give WCS points. JD was third on the WCS rankings last blizzcon, despite not playing a single game in code S. I personally think that having that as a possible route is a good thing, but I can see arguments for both sides. ... He played in WCS AM premier though? I just meant you can get lots of WCS points from lots of independent tournaments.

Yeah JD got some points from non WCS tournaments but he got most of his points within WCS as a finalist in Season 2 AM and season 2 finals, 3rd/4th in season 3 AM, and appearance at season 3 finals.

Nope, I think they make sure that the 1st and 2nd from the same group are on different halves and cannot meet untie finals. But group A 1st can play 2nd place from B,C or D.
