Apologies accepted.
Can't help to chuckle, seeing Paranoid being the first players to gratefully jump onto a logical apology for a problem that leaves plenty of space for imagination to what might be causing it.

You have to purchase premium to participate. It weeds out a lot of people who would normally just participate for the experience.

I've been really enjoying these qualifiers due to casting alone, besides the qualifiers producing good games overall, espec korea. Kaelaris + Apollo are great for these things, good commentary but not too much repetition/explanation, good time-filling between games and during the boring part. Hope they cast a large part of the finals together.
Wasn't that a very risky move-out from Polt? If Patience greets him midmap with ~10 stalkers, doesnt Polt just die? Feels like he misread the game completely and Patience just punted it.

If Stim ain't ready there's a high chance of that happening.

Like even with stim, there was only one or two marauders there. Patience can just engage and if Polt stims he blinks away and then slays the low hp marines.

Just amazes me how little Patience actually micros his units. Every engagement he loses his sentrys because of A move, almost so you could call it "trashy".

Why would he micro if it's not necessary to win. Sad but understandable.

Don't worry he has 'beautiful defense' by storming the entire screen

The first game - that he lost - was bio atleast, dont know about the others
From what I've seen he mixes in a mech game quite often (as in, more often than the vast majority of TvPers, but that's not hard), but he plays bio at least 50% of TvP, probably more.

He's clearly learned from his series vs MC
HerO's decisionmaking in those games was phenomenal, he just got too aggressive with his army movement D:
And forgot +3 T___T
Yeah, I think even that would've been fine if he'd just chilled and waited for more colossi since MC's robo was down
Hero just tries to play too cute for his own good sometimes with his drops and then if/when the player stabilises their army is much bigger. Against a passive player it can be very good because they might not press their advantage but against a player like MC who has that killer instinct he will just go and kill you every time
This was such an un Polt game. The fact that he left those units in the middle to be killed and didn't respond to the helions is just not like him at all
Polt Not sure what's up with his shape of late, he seems to lose every time I watch him. It's painful but perhaps I am jinxing him and should avoid all contact for a while

and carriers etc still its far from optimal vs lategamezerg. Grubby had an evenbigger army yesterday, cause he had NO workers left (had 20 k minerals, 15k gas) still he lost, because he couldnt engage the zerg. zerg was smart enough to make infestors, killed grubby's arm over and over again just with fungals and pulling by vipers, although grubby had 75% of the map he then gave up, shouting in anger "thank you blizzard for the amazing lategame matchup" :D
Wouldn't a sky army consisting mainly of carriers be much scarier?
Sort of, you don't need more then 5 tempest, the resources would be better spent into more voids or carriers.
I'm no pro, But I don't think Dimaga would of lost all his corruptors if he didn't have all those tempest.
Tempest are garbage vs Corrupters, they deal way to little DPS and are massive, if the zerg flyers close in they die very fast and not very cost efficiently. However if he tried to do that against Void rays then all the Corrupters would melt, since Voids deal bonus to armor + prismatic alignment and Corrupters are armored.
It's not scary at all vs. what Dimaga had, but he decided to sacrifice all his corruptors for some reason.
I don't see how he could beat that with corruptors tbh
He was going to win by slowly moving forward with his forest of spines, spores, and swarmhosts. Obviously he couldn't go out with the corruptors in a direct engagement, but the idea is to keep pulling a couple units at a time while locusts put on constant pressure.

If you can hold 1 medivac drop, he goes for 3. If you can hold that he goes for doom drop. If you can hold that... then you wont be able to hold the 3rd. That's pretty much how this map plays out in TvP if P goes for 3 bases at any point.
Revenge is killing some really strong TvTers. Very interesting. Still, I don't really see the people from the bottom half of the bracket not qualifying.

does this come from the doubleposter-pro, that doesnt know how to edit, or that doesnt get sarcasm ("terran domination" answered with "are u high?") Guess my english is fine (my autoinput/correct maybe not), propably not the best, but who cares on the internet, where you cannot even write easy but have to do it the cool way "ez" right? Didn't say it is easy in general, just some strats are easier to pull of at lower levels then with other races. Maybe in Korea it is balanced, we will see in the future when more tournaments like code a and s are being played and we have a higher number of played games...

No shame in losing to Jjakji, albeit I'm not sure what is going on in TvT atm. Marine-tank and positioning that composition was always Polt's main strength in that matchup and it seems to me that it's a bit more mech-centric of late. Could be wrong though!
Really? Because if I had to point out a main characteristic of Polt's TvT across the years it would be his Bio (especially bio vs mech). Funnily enough from what I caught he seems to have lost in marine-tank vs marine-tank.
At the end of WoL, he was the best bio vs bio player and had only ever lost one series to Ryung.

Speaking of Polt's not-TvT, isn't it funny that he's responsible for popularizing some of the most hated builds? (1/1/1 timing push and hellion-marauder vZ) ^^

In these games, jjakji is 69–24 (74.19%) in games and 36–10 (78.26%) in matches.
jjakji's TvT in HotS. Barring his loss vs Happy at HSC8 (which could have been a 2-0 as jjakji threw away quite a huge lead in the first game), he only lost TvT masters such as Bomber, Flash or Maru in the past few months. Polt is also part-time, so odds are his play cannot be as clean as jjakji's.

Also he had just warped in 7 templar right when Stardust engaged. If the 4 archons were ready and fighting instead of morphing at the time of the fight HerO had it

Yeah of course, easy to say it now...
When you even need a mod message on top to tell you who a player is...
It is one of my favourite mod notes. Maybe in a few months someone will discover this LR thread and wonder why the mods felt the need to explain who Revenge is.
I like players who teams take a punt on and give them a chance to express their talent, and who remain and play in the region they compete in, giving better practice for those players. Stardust was about the only streamer I watched who wasn't on the featured sidebar for quite some time, think he was called SsonLight or something at that stage? Cool to see him make his breakthrough when it happened
Honourable other mentions ofc, but I do like the Stardust story the best

What a hold
Stardust wins in WCS EU: "Damn Koreans... Europeans can compete" Stardust wins in something else: "EUROPE HOLDS!"
Is that really true of Stardust? He was living in Europe even before the WCS EU started. He is our Polt.
Our Polt is Jjakji
Has Jjakji moved permanently to Europe? I thought he would come for WCS and leave again, as MMA and Duckdeok etc. did last year. Although I may have that wrong.

I think he's in the mYi house for as long as he can legally stay, much like StarDust.

Cool. That will improve the ladder and help people in Europe practice. I'm all in favour of that.
Also, Revenge looked a little poor in that game. A bit disappointing.

Supposedly he's sporting a 90% win ratio on EU.
I guess hes #1 GM atm, 70% win ratio. Dear is also in there with 80%(with way less games though)

Protoss is such an intricate race that takes a lot of multitasking and finesse to play. It's like you can't ever mess up on macro or micro to play Protoss.

are you implying stardust won this because of imbalance?
I guess the Terran didn't make enough bunkers? Btw, I didn't watch the game. I'm here just because of that ridiculous (had to google for correct spelling) nerd rage post.

4 Bunkers, dead after the first blink
You need 6 bunkers with improved building armor and neosteel frame and 3 marauders in each bunker to hold it and keep the game going

You know what, tomorrow I'll play a game and streamline towards this setup, just to see how long it would take

I'm implying StarDust is an amazing player and Revenge isn't as good as he got heavily outplayed all three games.
Revenge got good so fast... when he came from korea, he was like a mid gm terran, i could beat him from time to time. for like 2 months now, he beats top pros regularly, and now he does this.
