I am Julia from ESL.
We have seen the interest in Starbow on Teamliquid and some of our emloyees play Starbow, so we have decided to set up a small Starbow tournament series.

Already 10 players are signed up since I posted the news an hour ago.
If there is enough players interested, we plan on making this a weekly cup series.
We are doing this mostly in our free time as we have a personal interest in this mod.

now it is one chech streamer, I do not yet have an English streamer, but there is more than just this one cup so I have a real chance of finding the best possible english streamer =) I just got a few emails the past minutes it is quite lovely to get this support from the community back that I try to give to those who wanna play starbow. on reddit some people are worried if ESL does a big fat serious cup series for a "small" mod. we want to make the next 4 weeks fun, who knows, if this is as good as people say it is and if it is out of alpha/beta, we will know more about the longevity of this lovely arcade game.

Wow, things are moving fast all of sudden. Try to get as many protosses as possible imo, protoss in SB is such a joy to watch.

After watching Starbow yesterday evening i will definitly watch a Tournament. It's a little bit hard to understand for now but if the casters are really good at explaining the new things it can become a really nice thing to watch !
Also i think there will be VODS ?

It's more of a combination of the 2 + some new stuff rather than a BW remake in the Sc2 engine

This is a pretty useful link since there are a lot of differences between SC2, BW and SBOW. Like marines not having Combat Shields or being able to Chronoboost Photon Cannons.

Patience, making sure to have reavers and a good sized force of goons and lots before taking a third probably. But yeah, roaches seem really strong in ZvP, very possibly OP. That's probably the most important thing of this tournament, it's like a public beta test. Winning doesn't matter too much, the point here is to analyze and scrutinize gameplay.

The protoss player was in the open far too long in that game. Should have taken the engagements near his choke with cannon support. Even though he was able to kill the roaches effectively with dragoons early on, his tendency to fight in the open meant that the unending tide of units along with supporting lings and hydras were soon able to push him back and gain an upper hand. He also needed to harass the zerg units with corsairs or drops to make the zerg players keep units in his base to defend.

But if you play the game more, you realize in zvp, you should send an overlord to each base. If you can't get an overlord or scourge scout, morph a the overlord at your natural and third into an overseer at the right timing. Problem solved, and it doesn't matter that the speed sucks until you get the upgrade.
I really think it is way too soon to say something is underpowered. Especially that example...

And nobody's heard of it for 1 year, 11 months and 3 weeks of those 2 years. Maybe starbow will have legs and continue to grow but obviously there's a novelty factor since it's new and there's not that much going on in the scene right now. If starbow is still going strong in a couple months when the WCS is in full swing, then that is a better indication of starbow's future prospects.

I would think the fact that every Arcade game will essentially become free with the 2.1 update will just make this game (among many others) much more accessible for all.

You guys were talking about beastyqt being a bw player? I followed the scene for a long time and played for about 10 years but i never heard of this guy in bw. I know that he played sc2 though.

Yeah wasnt too great. Although i had the feeling Heusa knows how to play he had lots of overmines when the game was not decided but didnt spend them on ultras and defilers. Beastyqt on the other hand nearly gave a certain win away because he wanted to put on a show rofl.

It was fun. I enjoyed it. Still, I would have preferred to see regular SC2 or BW.
Would still be fun to see once in a while.

Yes. Also his lack of simcity seemed to have cost him that series. I winced every time he let a big group of vultures in to kill off his entire drone line. With a good sim city at the choke he could have held them off with a couple of queens easily.

looks like that all zerg units are super slow units and especially texas is a very good map for units with super fast movements/speed like vultures vs zerg.
