I think they don't want the overall best to also get the award for being the best of their race. That's the only way it makes sense to me. And this way they were able to give awards to all the players who won a GSL or WCS KR in 2013 (Roro, Soulkey, Maru, Dear). | ||

It really is time for an authority to step in to establish what the requirements are for the classification of events. Instead of everyone and their mother's having their own criteria. These sort of things should be set in stone so everyone is on the same page. | ||

I don't think anyone needs to step in to tell Gom how to classify their own events at all, actually, since the GSL pins mean nothing except prestige for anyone. | ||

Technically Blizzard already acts as a governing authority to some extent when it comes to the prize pool and licensing of certain events. There are already some requirements that have to be met to be called a major, but I can see your point based off the badges alone but still I wouldn't hand them out in this regard based off the limited opportunity.
