I don't know why they always make day one of these events last for like twelve hours. I wouldn't ever go sit at the venue for that long, and I suspect most people would agree with me. It's fine if your tournament is at a bigger convention like gamescom or comicon or blizzcon or whatever so people can come and go, but when your show is the only thing there you can't expect people to mill around literally all day.
