It's kinda weird how much I don't appreciate Zerg play despite being a Zerg player lol

Finals are gonna be good, haven't had a ZvP in a while, might be a close series, might be a stomp, might be one (or two) new Best starcraft 2 players in the world for 2 weeks until a new underdog come and beat them. Who knows, who cares. Let's just look forward to a (hopefully) good finals. Congrats to them. "Bunch of ungrateful so-called 'starcraft fans'"? Get off that page. Show me one soccer fan who goes "Whoa, those totally unexpected, considered not-championship-quality teams got to the finals, I'm totally gonna cheer for them because I like soccer so much! Oh, well, they kicked my fav team out of the tournament? doens't matter, I'm a true fan of the game!". My precious favorite players didn't make it to the finals, instead, some for me uninteresting and boring players did. So what? As much as you can feel joy about that I can feel sadness and disappointment about that! So stop insult those who actually care for who is in the finals, because those are fans of players, and stop calling them angrateful or bitchy. What the f*** is your last sentence with the finals even about? Well, EVERY final "might be a close series, might be a stomp, might be one (or two) new Best starcraft 2 players in the world for 2 weeks until a new underdog come and beat them". Don't you get that this is why people are mocking about Dear and soO? Because Maru and Soulkey were considered being long-term consistent players (SK: winning a season, getting high placements and stuff, Maru: winning a season, trying to prove now he's no fluke) and what the hell happens? two flukes win. What the fuck is your post even about? You're giving Maru a chance to prove he isn't a fluke, but you aren't giving Dear or soO a chance to prove they aren't? Maru wasn't exactly a long term consistent player. He's been around, but only came into the championship conversation last season. He might still be a fluke. And yeah I'd cheer for a team like Millwall or Alcorcon if they ever made it to their respective country's cup finals, even if they beat my favorite teams along the way. Yes, I cheer the underdog all the time. One thing though, they have to win in style. Maru is the marine princess, he has his style for sure. But dear and soo aren't that memorable, at least so far. I'll give the final a shot. I hope they turned out to be surprising good. 2rax - pure style, blink allin - bullshit gimmicky protoss scum, I see the trend.

Well TvZ has become a rather borefest i gotta admit, we all know what is going to happen if neither goes all in. It seems Zerg more then ever is back to WoL early day's as unit comps go, both in ZvZ and TvZ. The only matchup that still seems refreshing for zerg is PvZ, witch turned from borefest to something exciting to watch.
I guess what i am trying to say is, i don't blame you from a pure amateur spectator view on my point, zerg is rather stagnated atm to watch.
Anyway's a PvZ finals might just be the refreshing matchup we need, and who knows we might have fallen for the play/personality that wins or loses this final. (as happend for Rain or a Innovation, who aren't excactly personality cannons either)

the thing with rain is that he "exploded" onto the sc2 scene by doing really well in GSL Season 4 last year, especially in his RO16 group where people noticed him take out both taeja and polt. He had done well before in proleague and WCS KR but he was a fairly hipster pick, until he beat the terrans in pretty dominating, safe PvT style. his style of play, while it used to not vary all that much, was so damn slick that it was hard not to like. he was also the kespa poster boy, that a borderline a-teamer could destroy all the sc2 dishwashers.
this isn't much like dear atm, who's won in fairly uninspiring, really standard fashion (i.e. the series haven't been that memorable like rain). soO i think is the more compelling finalist since he's taken down some really good players this season, he's the one i'm rooting for. plus it kinda irritates dodgin which is good ;p

It's really weird how people defines style. If cheesing when desperate is so-called "style" then playing super solid macro like Rain/SK should be style too. And if you definte "stylish" by what makes the game interesting then maybe only sOs qualifies.
Bottom line is, dont use "style" to justify your ignorance or dislikeness of some players. It's okay to play favoritism imo.

I agree with all the posts saying that the finals will be worth watching and will probably be awesome. And I also agree with "giving a chance" to Dear and/or soO for proving themselves, even though I think they probably won't ask anyone and will just do it whether people like it or not.
But I do think that we need someone to start dominating hard. REALLY HARD. Like winning everything for at least 8 months. Yes, Dear and soO played admirably, and 100% deserve their place in the finals. But you have to understand that viewer-wise, gameplay is important, but the story behind the players is equally important. And this is why some people get weary of cheering for one player, seeing him fall down, cheer for another one, seeing him fall down, and such and such, endlessly. When will we have Flash-like in SC 2?? I mean MVP was the closest to achieving something like it, but he still had slumps and his domination periods weren't that long. INnoVation gave us hope, and now look where he is. I hope that Dear or soO will be our new champion, the player we've been waiting for, the Savior, the Messiah of StarCraft, but I doubt it. And this is why, despite my excitement for the finals, I'm also a bit disappointed and I'm not ashamed of saying that I would have preferred to see Maru win 3-0 and then roll over SoulKey in the finals, before going to win Blizzcon afterwards and being heralded first SC2 bonjwa.

Woah. This'll be quite a weird finale I guess.

Rooting for Dear, solely to give Naniwa/Scarlett a higher chance to reach blizzcon.
