I'm guessing korean players are aware of next year's WCS format (region lock ?). I noticed less and less koreans participated in WCS EU/AM qualifiers. I think they are moving back to Korea.
No mention of SC2 showmatches, but sc2tv is a sponsor and BLizzard would be there too. Yea makes no sense that MvP would play round 1 when he needs to play challenger round 3 on wednesday and cannot do it.

Patrick Brix Bjerg @WolvesBunny 38s Playing challenger league today at 20 CET vs krass. Found out when i woke up today xD Cheer for me !!!
Why are there always issues with challenger league -.-
That is not the first time, is it? I hope they work on the overall quality of WCS EU Challenger for next season, always felt that it is less than ideal.

Since when has the player pool been determined? There is no reason why the brackets (talking about the brackets, not the schedule) shouldn't be out half an hour later, like they handle it with the ro8 drawings immediately after the ro16.

Agree with this, since he apperently does´nt plan to play in EU anymore, he has nothing to gain with this qualifier. TeSL and maybe Code B next year seems to be, where his focus is.
Kim Hammar @HelloSaSe 52s I wasn't late neither gave WO in WCS. ESL admins sent me e-mail stating 7 PM CET. Their fault not mine. Sorry on their behalf guys
I wish ESL would give full attention to challenger league. This mess has been happening in every season now. Cant believe they cant do this shit right.
And outsourcing the cast when you have 2 fulltime casters hired will always elude me, I guess it gives attention to lesser known casters but thats about it

Can't they just apologize, talk to Tefel and have them play their match? Worst case scenario, schedule it for another day. Things like this can affect a pro players career a ton.

In this case that is quite a huge fuck-up on ESL´s part, hope they can fix it. Sucks for both, Sase and Tefel to be in this situation.

Probably got the right mail then. I mean, as long as ESL does´nt deny Sases version, there is no reason not to believe it, people make mistakes sometimes. Let´s just hope, they can fix it.
This was entirely my fault, I sent the email to both players stating 19:00. Tefel looked at the (correct) match time on the ESL website and turned up at 18:00.
Since the cast was meant to be at 18:00, it won't be casted now, but at least it won't be a walk over. We will get replays and have it casted any way.

9-24th place gives 50 points, 25th-40th only 25. Although I have to admit about being wrong regarding the future series, apperently there is no further distribution between 9-16th and 17-24th, thought it would be 75 there.
Those 25 there are awarded to every player qualifying to Challenger League, regardless of placement. And bracket stage only determines 1st-8th place, the rest is decided in group stages.
And whats with the pictures of drunk nordic people.

I feel like too often protoss players fall into the pattern of "I'll warp in lots of zealots across the map, that'll win me the game". I think that in some cases having some zealots or stalkers with your main army coult be really helpful in keeping it alive.

there needs to be an auto win button that costs 20k minerals to use. i dont want to watch a stalemate for another half hour. pretty sure this is over. I do wish firecake would add like 10 macro hatches. he can certainly afford them

Population does though.
Tbh I don't think Daisy should have done all those attacks directly into the zergs army. The entire idea of countering an immobile opponent is not fighting his army. Just move your entire army around the zergs army and recall out.
is there a reason more zergs don't build like 5 (or more) macro hatches when they have that much bank? seems like more larva would be good. and its not like he needed the 2k minerals it would have cost. although I guess once you have 10k plus minerals you can do whatever you want.

all in now would be funny
I would imagine that its because their APM at this point is a limited reource and that they would have to make and rally lots of queens so as not to fuck up your injects (only way to do it at that point is backspace injecting). Theres also not that much payoff. What are you realistically going to do with 120 larva that you couldn't do with 70?

If he kept up with the injects (not hard due to passiveness, and he had enough queens for that), he had 6 (or 7?) hatches, with 19 larva posible on each, so a possible 114 larva. More than enough for a massive remax, and then stale the game to refill larva

Well, apparently you have to stay on top of your macro, make 9 marines, tank and medivac every single second, keep the upgrades going, pull some scvs and eventually you can push the roach/hydra army back.

On October 02 2013 05:06 GizmoPT wrote: omg Bunny game was best game i ever saw wtf just happened
what happened? didn't see
Lz opens 3hatch roach-bane. Bunny pokes around with a couple of hellion/reapers and finds it out. Hellions delay lings for a while and Lz moves out later than he wanted.
Roach-ling-bane attack hits Bunny's natural but he gets off a lucky widow mine shot (or maybe he targets...) that kill most of the banelings. Bunny keeps his hellions in the middle of the map intercepting lings reinforcemnts and finally pushes Lz back. He also has a third cc up at this point.
Lz moves his army back into his third and Bunny cannot get in there. He gets bane speed and hits again at ~150 supply with a dreadful split, chasing Bunny's army away with speed banes (at the third base) and running lings into both natural and main.
Bunny needs to lift the third, Lz kills a lot of scvs but finally Bunny gets some crazy momentum.
He flies the medivacs everywhere, killing Lz's third, fourth, spawning pool and whatever else. Lz keeps pushing with more banes, roaches and lings, he denies the third once again and Bunny falls down to four scvs + 3CC.
Lz is not looking to hot either with both his main and nat almost mined out... he moves in once again but Bunny's drop come back do defend, 3rd lands again, mules get dropped, roaches, banes and lings killing stuff in Bunnys nat and main, he keeps picking units up into medivacs, flying them up and down, keeping away from the zerg force...
Overlords fly into Bunny's main and drop creep everywhere but marines keep coming out and finally 2/2 marines with something like 8 medivacs overhead shred Lz's roaches.
Bunny has no almost scvs but Lz has no units and he does not think he can make anything that can withstand a 8-medivac 16 marines with 2/2 attack that would follow shortly after... he is probably right.

Most people can't beat Lucifron if they roll High GM zerg. So there you go.

i think he means you get a second chance in the up & down stage and you can't get knocked out in the round of 40 like korea? just guessing.
In the bracket finals there are 4 out of 8 possible players from Challenger league. (and imo 2-3 are looking at a decent chance to advance) In the first round Challenger players went 10-6 against Premier players.
Looks like there might be quite a few new players in Premier next season.

I'll only quote this, but for all who're thinking Dayshi isn't taking esport seriously, or is helping lucifron or anything else: Dayshi stated on his twitter account that he had 15spikes/min between 6 and 11PM. The fact is, on a TvT against lucifron he couldn't win, so he doesn't forfeit like some other could have, and just play random. It's like saying to the community: "I can't play, but I'll try to entertain you". This is very pro from him imo.

Wait so this seasons challenger does fuck all for next year? What about the Premier players then, do they have to requalify aswell?
God Blizzard get your shit together, I hope this isnt correct
Wait what? If this is true, they should at least announce it publicly... WCS is getting more and more disappointing :/ And I was really hyped for Season 1, now a lot of things add up, that I don't really like about it :/ I hope Blizzard listens to the community's feedback :/

This season you can't qualify from Season 3 challenger to Premier league season 1 - 2014. If you finish top at challenger, you get better seed for the qualifiers for Premier, so it's like that Qualify for challenger (or drop from premier ) --- > Play and try to finish first (top 8) --------> another qualifiers only for top players from challenger. So it's gonna be really hard to come back in Premier once your out... I hate Blizzard, this makes rly no sense to do something like that ...

I don't think it's necessarily bad with the WCS format. I think the player pool has been a bit too conservative in who goes in and out. There needs to be some more radical cut-off between the seasons to mix up the player pool.

I agree that a 16 players rotation over the actual 8 would be better but why penalize the players who are doing well ?

Sure. But any system will create some injustices. You could make the argument that you're penalising people who are constantly almost getting in through the qualifiers, but just missing out because most players stay in the WCS rotation.

No, according to Starbuck and Showtime himself the players winning today will get some WCS points (which are pretty minor unless your Naniwa or ForGG) and the price for 1-8 place in challenger. For 2014 they dont get a Premier seed, they get a seed in a giant qualifier from which 24 premier players qualify.

Each archon shot can almost kill 3-4 marines at a time, and the P units had +1 armor (whereas I don't think Forgg had +1 weapons yet). Forgg really got caught badly out of position and couldn't kite.

It's the same with roaches, people only really see stimmed bio blowing through them with 12 medivacs overhead and conclude they suck vs terran. Then 25 of them show up at your third when your marines are 1-0 with 2 medivacs and everything dies, and everyone is confused.
Bio is actually pretty shit until you get a decent clump out and some crucial upgrades.
