That's just one of two definitions (to remove 1/10 of an army). The other one, which is more frequently used and still correct, is to remove a large percentage (a rather arbitrary amount). So while you could decimate an army by removing 10% of it, it doesn't need to be exactly 10% (it could be more). | ||
