lichter's notes: I am currently writing a FAQ for LR threads, to be included at the bottom of each LR. Mostly I want it to address questions regarding LR threads, as well as questions about becoming LR OPs. Please look through the FAQ and PM me with ideas to improve it. TY!
Volunteer! All you have to do is check if there's already a thread for the tournament, or if anyone is scheduled to make the thread. If there isn't a thread and no one is scheduled to do it, you can become the LR OP! We are always looking for new people to help out, especially for WCS AM and EU.
Being the LR thread OP is hard work, but it's also fulfilling. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people check the LR thread every day, and it is a valuable resource to the community. It's a simple way of supporting SC2, the game we all presumably love :p
Now that I've decided to be a LR OP, what do I do? + Show Spoiler +
Next, read up a little on bbcode and familiarize yourself with it. It helps to look at the code for previous LR OPs.
Finally, check your schedule. Are you SURE you'll be around for the duration of the tournament? Are you sure you'll be able to update in a timely manner?
If everything checks out and you've done all of the above, all you have to do is make the thread!
Where can I find previous LR OPs, as well as LR resources? + Show Spoiler +
LRing is tough work, and only a handful of people do it regularly. The most famous ones are Shellshock and The_Templar, but occasionally other people (such as packrat, Yello, etc) do it as well. If no one is available to do it, then there is no LR. Again, we need more volunteers. Anyone who watches games regularly and types really, really fast has qualifications to become an LRer.
All you have to do is write out what happens during the game. It doesn't need to be complete, but it should be a good summary of the entire game. Supply counts, timings, build orders, and major events are typically what receive priority in LRs. You can read more LRs by Shellshock and The_Templar for a better idea of how to do it.

Apparently the TL writers are over-loading or is it the editors, guess we'll never know but let's have at least a Millenium advancing tonight - that way it'll be 2 today !
Why did he camp that whole game? I could see him using tunneling infestors to attack off of 2 bases, then attacking when ultra carapace finished before the archons + storm popped. I don't understand any of this.

Weird build out of Goswser. I think he'll be a little behind a 15 hatch at this point, with his speed cancelled and Sen's coming up. I don't really understand his thinking... cancelling speed for a baneling nest.
Can someone explain to me why WCS AM is the only one out of the three broadcasted regions to either never use any game sound or keep it so low you can barely hear it? I don't know if I am the only one in this but I don't want to just watch animations without any sounds while listening to casters

Yea you are right but it is barely audible. No offense to Rotti or Bitter but I really enjoy the game music and game sounds being a bit louder since it feels like you are more into the game. Dunno if I will get flack for saying this but I know LoL and Dota broadcasts always have the game music/sound clearly audible. I myself don't play any MOBAs but when I see their casts once in awhile I find the sounds kind of suck me into watching

I've watched a bunch of WCS AM lately and I feel like it is usually the same. I could be mistaken though but I'll have to check the VODs
I like how sleep set it up vs Soulkey by brutally punishing him for going infestors in previous games, then pulling the banes out after he had trained Soulkey to go roach-hydra
Hwangsin sacs the nexus, but he should be fine. Plenty of sentries at the ramp and immortals incoming. Weird transition from Macsed, but it could catch Hwangsin off guard.

He didn't want to wait out photon overcharge so he tried to slip past and ended up in a weird spot. I see your point.
Honestly I think Colossus tech is unnecessary. If he just rolled in with void ray immortal I feel like Goswser would crumble with a roach heavy composition.
I feel like Goswser was thinking that group to the bottom by the third was Macsed's whole army. Macsed's positioning was just way too good to attack into.

Macsed faked a third against Scarlett during RO16 last season to take the game. I'm pretty sure they're referring to that, since it didn't work out so well against Goswser.

I'll vouch that Protoss do think of lasers all the time. My girlfriend recently asked me to play Diablo III with her and I spent pretty much all of the time shooting the Wizard's level 2 spell everywhere while shouting 'LAZORS!'.

Is it just me or is Goswsers macro slipping in this game? Bulding 20 roaches at once and still floating 600 minerals and for a couple minutes he's been at 700-1k? I know zergs like to save and mass units all at once but it seems kind of excessive this game and at this time?

as a zerg player i hate the way roach/hydra matches up against toss... you either get forcefielded to death or you slaughter them, you either hit before a lot of colossus or you get stuck and have to trade/tech out of it. watching goswser win simply because he flanked and got around the FFs isn't satisfying, it's just like "oh, the FFs weren't perfect. GG"
i like zvp as a matchup but the awkward forced timings for both races can make it less interesting to watch. protoss NEEDING force fields to survive against zerg when their macro kicks in causes some design issues IMO

It's not as much in that scenario, because it is harder to target fire in that situation. But against Hwangsin he didn't target stalkers/immortals with his Void rays and ended up hitting sentries, leading me to believe that Macsed just doesn't bother with it.

Those roaches were force fielded out. They couldn't get through the gap.

I'd have to check again but I'm fairly sure there was a point when the wall was breached but a lot of roaches got FFed out.

as a player who uses roach ling all-ins against protoss very often, you win the game with the zergling rallies, not with the roaches. It is of primary importance for the roaches to make sure that the wall cannot be re-sealed. he could send a few units into each mineral line to spread macsed out, but you have to make sure the main wall has a big hole. its good to get rid of the pylons so he cant put gateways up.

A lot of people forgot that if Sen is thrown into a group of Koreans plus foreigners, he would probably be the last foreigner alive 9 out of 10 times. History has shown that every time. Not sure how people keep calling certain player the best foreigner without including Sen.

Eh it's more a factor of Sen isn't around as much as other foreigners, whereas Naniwa/Stephano/Scarlett are everywhere.

I'm sure Scarlett will approve, because no one can stop her or if you believe Polt will participate in WCS AM, it will be nice Polt vs Scarlett finals... all the time. Also, do EG members participate in Asia/Pacific or AM? They are s till Koreans so I don't see how it fixes it.
People need to either go 'we don't want Koreans' which would include the ones playing but not living HerO Jaedong Oz etc (or do they actually live in the EG Lair?) or they do accept Koreans and allow all of them :x
