lichter's notes: I am currently writing a FAQ for LR threads, to be included at the bottom of each LR. Mostly I want it to address questions regarding LR threads, as well as questions about becoming LR OPs. Please look through the FAQ and PM me with ideas to improve it. TY!
Volunteer! All you have to do is check if there's already a thread for the tournament, or if anyone is scheduled to make the thread. If there isn't a thread and no one is scheduled to do it, you can become the LR OP! We are always looking for new people to help out, especially for WCS AM and EU.
Being the LR thread OP is hard work, but it's also fulfilling. Hundreds, if not thousands, of people check the LR thread every day, and it is a valuable resource to the community. It's a simple way of supporting SC2, the game we all presumably love :p
Now that I've decided to be a LR OP, what do I do? + Show Spoiler +
Next, read up a little on bbcode and familiarize yourself with it. It helps to look at the code for previous LR OPs.
Finally, check your schedule. Are you SURE you'll be around for the duration of the tournament? Are you sure you'll be able to update in a timely manner?
If everything checks out and you've done all of the above, all you have to do is make the thread!
Where can I find previous LR OPs, as well as LR resources? + Show Spoiler +
LRing is tough work, and only a handful of people do it regularly. The most famous ones are Shellshock and The_Templar, but occasionally other people (such as packrat, Yello, etc) do it as well. If no one is available to do it, then there is no LR. Again, we need more volunteers. Anyone who watches games regularly and types really, really fast has qualifications to become an LRer.
All you have to do is write out what happens during the game. It doesn't need to be complete, but it should be a good summary of the entire game. Supply counts, timings, build orders, and major events are typically what receive priority in LRs. You can read more LRs by Shellshock and The_Templar for a better idea of how to do it.
Can I submit a new banner, player photos, or other images? + Show Spoiler +
Yes! We encourage creativity in LR threads, so if you want to submit some fancy stuff and replace the premade ones, go right ahead.
Who do I contact if I have questions about LR threads? + Show Spoiler +
The more I look at it, the more I think Nerchio was just ahead of widow mines with how much he used roaches in WoL. We'll see if the gods of map selection put Hasu on Whirlwind, we could be here for a while.

Who cares? Its funnier this way
but he actually did, the last few games i saw from him were quite mannered, he played against nani and gg'd twice!!!!!!1111 i mean you can interpret stuff and say he wasn't serious and so on but it's a gg nevertheless

..Honestly what the fuck Shuttle If you play on that level, there comes a point where you should scout for the hidden base becaue there would be no way to maintain such an army with the economy Hasu had - the hidden base. Also, why the hell stop expanding. He could have taken half of the god damn map.
that game. warp in zealot after zealot and hold that. this is just sad. that was just hilariously bad from hasu almost loosing this with shuttle that has the insane amount of lag.
one of the best games of the season? either it's been a pretty slow season, or people really like watching big mistakes. it was a fun game, but not more than 3 or 4 stars imo.

He just has like no rax ^^
actually this helped him extremely, by not spending his bank so fast i feel, he would have had no money faster , after the first BIG fight happened.
Still i feel, that killing so many nexi shouldn't lead to you still winning even if you have only 1 hidden nexus. he killed like what 7 nexi?

He was at something like nine? Still, they had a ton of downtime, I do expect more from Korean terran players.

the number of bases hasuobs had would have let him win I felt shuttle could have stayed in it longer though. scrappy scrappy game though
Wow. Shuttle ate storms like fruit loops and still pushed through Hasu.
I'm actually staring to think late game PvT is in a good place. Initially, I thought the late game Protoss army was too strong, but over the past few weeks I've changed my mind. Terran has so many opportunities to maximize their army late game, and also to harass. Killing off tons of SCVs, Nukes, Planetary fortresses all over, Hellbats in the composition, and more.

Hasu had 2 full mining bases, Shuttle had 1
*0 only his bottom base had minerals left and ~3 scv that have been attacked by zealots

This game looked kinda good in the late game because hasu lost his all-inish collosus attack off two bases. Shuttle went into late game with an actual advantage and then threw it away by not scouting the hidden base and not producing constantly from his rax.

I noticed this 2 years ago that the best players are pretty boring because they are to good to avoid back and forth games but not good to not throw the game.

The perfect micro/macro games end fast with 1 player owning other. Sometimes sloppy back and fourth games are more interesting to watch also wtf Hasu played well in this game, great comeback, but still it was big mistake by Shuttle

More like Storms imba... It's near impossible to break a Protoss deathball imo. TvP. Win in 15 minutes or die trying.
we already heard that, you have to come up with something new
i really hope mod make this thread "whine = ban" again, to many people doesnt learn it
Well I only caught the final 15 minutes of the game. Weren't they on the same amount of expos? It's just that Shuttle mined out quicker because of Mules, which allowed him to eat the storms and replace his army. Then it didn't work anymore because of the clutch micro by Hasu at the end.

I don't think people complain about the win rates, but in the way the games are played out. Basically they find it boring.

Eh I don't find Macsed to be particularly special but I agree he needs to try to get to the live portion without playing long games, especially against Protoss.

Problem here was that the admin seems to be sleeping, it was the french observer lagging. He should leave and fix his lag before the next game.

While it would certainly be a good thing, it would make production rather tough, since they would have to stream the observed to essentially re-streamers. Especially considering that different casters want to have different information.

If the observer is good, it would improve the commentary if anything. Look at GSL as an example.

Weird that I haven't heard a single commentator mention how all the new maps favour Blink for Protoss. Less relevant in PvT and PvZ, but in PvP it's a big thing.

While it would certainly be a good thing, it would make production rather tough, since they would have to stream the observed to essentially re-streamers. Especially considering that different casters want to have different information.

You would get better commentary if casters can't see for themselves? I seriously doubt so.
Having a dedicated observer per (set of) caster(s) certainly is useful, I think the english stream also has that. But only a dedicated observer for all casters without them having access to the game is not positive.

Seriously, a good observer will do 10x better than a caster who is trying to talk at the same time. Casters miss a lot more stuff if they're controlling the game themselves.

Ever thought that pretty much each of those 5+ casters wants to know his own thing? 1 good observer won't cut it for 10 commentators without their own observer in-game.

Wasn't it because the Zealot attack stopped Nerchio from droning up on the third, and then when he wanted to transition into Hydras the all-in hit just moments before he'd get up his big clump of hydras?

traded Larva +Minerals vs Minerals until the Roaches came in and killed a couple of Queens to disturb Larva production. And Hydras murder Gateway units as long as you can fight without Guardian Shield with it thats turned around. Atleast in the 0 upgrade region. And no range on the Hydras. But dunno I thought Titan did pretty good damage with his Zealot start.

Pretty boring group to be honest. Hasu is too stable to fail, Nerchio isnt near his best performance, Shuttle is just not a top korean and Titan is an average protoss.

Well, you are inevitably going to become a lot better at the matchup. But you probably have to survive going like 3-17 in your first 20 games without thinking "fuck this, im gonna go studying/get another job"

But usually you do manage to find the time/space to get it when you're under mutalisk attack, even if you're starved. Minerals can always go into cannons to support your bases and slow down the muta ball.
Hmm, the poll choices here have 1star at the top and 5stars at the bottom, but it's the other way round in the GSL threads. It'll be nice if there's some consistency in that

Nerchio really didn't allow for that time and space, not with all the delay on the 3rd base and the harass in the main and great corruptor control to keep the phoenixes away from the mutas.

Over the time it took for Nerchio to finally kill him there was plenty of time to tech. Did he even have a twilight council? Teching is basically one of the few choices you got when you're contained anyway.

He really did not have the gas for it. He was basically constantly at 0 gas due to making phoenix and stalkers (you shouldn't really make many stalkers but Hasu had no choice). If he had saved it to spend on upgrades, he doesn't have enough phoenix for it to matter anyway.
Nerchio stuck him between a rock and a hard place.

Well, obviously you have to cut back on something, such as Stalker production. But I guess I simply disagree with you.

Cut back and die.
In this game you see Nerchio put a lot less strain on Hasu so Hasu has the money to spend on upgrades.

What would you do? Heavy zerg air like roach maxes looks easer to execute from one side. I'm sure the skill shows up in seeing some sort of all ins and deflecting it. All the management focus though kinda makes it a meh spectacle. I just don't think I like sc2 air or sc2 mutas as a viewer. On the plus side though, better nechio through than Hasu.

I agree that Nerchio is playing great, but I think hes winning so good because it abused Hasu s passive playstyle. They know each other well over the last years.
Payam Toghyan @iamTT1 48s i still dunno what the best comp is vs mutas tt. some ppl go ~12ish phoenixs+void+ chargelot arch and some go mass phoenix + chargelot arch
Gotta agree, this composition is super difficult to deal with.
Really good play from Nerchio does help, either.
Not applying any pressure to Z, what do you expect. lol at you and TT1, people follow him on twitter?

Yeah this. Nerchio is abusing Hasuobs since everyone knows how passive he is. Mutas are the perfect comp
You can't just sit back and turtle against zerg. Its bad play no matter what

Well, its not like Hasu doesn't know how Nerchio plays does he? He should have applied more pressure on him, but he left him to take 6 full of gas bases and complete map control. He brought this on himself.

You are probably the funniest person on all of TL. Never stop
BabyK, Krass, FireCake and Kas need to advance now and I'll be a happy bunny, happy Nerchio made it through but I prefer Hasuobs to Titan cause his games are usually entertaining.
