So what counters Mass Viking/Cloaked Ghost?

Anything that can move and detect is countered by Vikings and scans. Cloak handles the rest.

Tempests, Observers following your Colossi. It also helps not to enter lategame massively behind; if people think 10 macro OCs 180 army size is the norm for each lategame TvP, they're fairly deluded.

It wasn't the greatest of all time.

But that was, although boring, the showcase of very solid play from both sides. And that counts too. Seeing very good starcraft compensate for the fact that it was a bit boring.

this is boring to those not playing the game.
But it is so intense to watch for a high tank scii player. The dancing is beautiful.

Not getting 3rd base killed (no MSC with timewarp present when it was needed for example). Not getting your 4th denied 35 times...

Wasn't TaeJa really ahead tho? Not saying that TvP lategame is broken, but one terran winning a TVP lategame while being super ahead doesn't prove much.

Command center spam is fucked up. There's no risk to terran for detection and you get to make a bigger army.

You don't just waltz into super lategame as terran and build a million CCs without having obtained some large advantage previously.

Rain's been behind forever, and things are just snowballing.

And you sidestepped the point I brought up. This point has little to do with this particular game and more of an observation of how late game terran snowballs in a way that makes detection plentiful and resource gathering far easier than the other two races.

honestly something needs to be done about TvP lategame.

it should not come down to 1 unit vs 1 unit hardcounters making both sides afraid to fight

then terran sacs scvs down to 25~ with mass orbitals and hopefully takes the win

Reavers would make Terran bio balls scatter frantically :D

You've gotta be joking. That game was over for 20 minutes because Rain had terribly low economy. At one point he was on one base while Taeja was on 3 with tons of Orbitals behind.

Rain played horrible and lost that game due to his stubbornness to actually expand. He kept trying to expand towards Terran. He should have been expanding upwards. It would have forced Taeja to walk across the map to try and deny/pick off expansions. Rain could have further delayed and set traps by leaving Templars in the path in that direction.

The sad part is that Taeja had to wait so long to kill Rain because of how ridiculously strong Protoss 200/200 army is in PvT.

If anything, that game displayed how ridiculous Protoss is that it can live for 20 minutes on 1-2 bases against a massive Terran economy.

I play Protoss, so no bias here.

It gave Taeja a huge lead, but once protoss manage to get a full deathball, you have to be careful.

Rain never really got up a decent amount of bases to get the gas he needed because Taeja kept him on the back foot.

It was intense and exciting until rain got a 4th, and then it was a dance of killing observers. Really stopped being exciting at that point.
