I've heard there's actually a Montreal LAN the very next day.

As for bringing your own laptop...there's like maybe 1 or 2 spots to plug in your own, however the PCs provided are pretty good, there won't be a problem with screen size or anything like that, they're full reasonably powerful PCs meant for gaming. So don't rely on being able to use a laptop, there won't be space for everyone if multiple people bring one, plus its not as fair.

A lot of people ask every time if it's ok they're not high skilled, and yes its perfectly fine.

We're doing group play so you're assured a few games at least, and it's good practice and good to get used to a LAN setting. It's also very much just a social event too, meet fellow players and so on, so please don't be hesitant to join just because you're not a high league.

It's been tried before, there's just so much less interest in the lower bracket, and there's potential to smurf it when money is involved.

Unfortunately a Silver still just loses to a #1 Gold, and it really doesn't attract the numbers we'd like. If there is a demand for it, I'd like to do it, but it hasn't been a very successful thing generally.
