I think what troubles me somewhat is a pair of lings cost 50m, a marine costs 50m but a marine scales much better with it's upgrades and synergisticly with T's tech paths.

Actually those games were pretty close. I don't know why are you saying that Polt is much better. If you see only the score one could assume that, but by the level of play displayed by both you just can't.

That bust used up all of his early gas, now all of his gas is invested in his defense. If he tried to tech he won't have the units to hold off Polt's attacks.
