EDIT: And as an aside, 0/2/0 vs 0/1/0 is 10 shots vs 12, which is a bigger difference than 8 vs 9.

I think Grubby must have assumed there was going to be a Dark Shrine from Duckdeok and only then saw the 4 gates, though he could have cancelled the oracle for a void ray probably. Assuming he had already started the oracle when he saw the 4 gates (I'm far from sure about that), he may have felt too time-limited to cancel it and go for a void ray instead.

Stargate oracle for detection, it made perfect sense if he wanted to go phoenix afterwards. Also he made sentry to ff the ramp

FF on the ramp does nothing because of how fast blink+msc can arrive.

Wrong, Oracle and MSC can give detection too. He wanted oracle as detection unit.

Blink can still pressure with 4gates while probing behind it; if Grubby hadn't lost his msc he could have held that kind of pressure, but not a 24 probe 4gate blink.
edit: also the msc doesn't have detection.
