WCS EU has been unwatchable for me and today seems to be even worse than yesterday.
edit: The English stream is unwatchable on evry resolution, but the German one is fine on 480p for me at least.
edit2: The German stream is fine for me on 480p and 1080+ but not on 720. Very strange...

Ah, really? Thanks. Would've thought that the tech reset with the forge and Stargate lost would've put Feast further behind.

Titan threw this horribly, backing up my claim that no russian will ever win anything in sc2. our pros are just sad in how many basic mistakes they make (to kill that planetary the immortal + 10 zealots would have been enough, why send most of the army leaving collosus and templar unprotected????

Well I'd say getting all your army stuck except your colossus and high templars is a pretty big misstep :d I mean Kas had no SCV's on this base he just stormed all the SCV's with his drop ! Just take a 5th , build up an even bigger army and a+move to victory . That was just so wierd .

Kas+Titan need to advance, but i belive in Kas way more vs toss than titans pvp lately

that all ins was not a good build from titan
im surprised kas actually lost to a collosus all in on whirlwind
no reason to engage that army, counter attacks would have won him the game. but he was in a tough position from his build anyways. if you are going to go 3 CC gasless, do it, but do it after 1 rax fe, not after cc first, then drop 2 more raxes, THEN take it. its not much faster than taking gasses after those raxes then taking the third... and stim / shields is actually done much quicker
|
Feast vs Kas in LB would be twitter-funny actually, hadn't thought of that.

I don't know about TitaN but Feast's PvP is one of the absolute best in Europe. He should be fine I think.
|
I really dislike when the casters talk about how a build the player is doing is wrong and how he should've done something else. For instance when he delayed his storm to get out more units and just have the templar there building energy and still have them available for possible feedback if the Terran was to push in and attack.
As a toss I'm gonna take the liberty of speaking for my race and say we've all been there.... you start storm RIGHT away after you get your first few templar and it ends up being a huge 200-200 investment that goes to waste while the terran is stimming his way thru your army.
So less specifically; in a situation where the casters might not necessarily agree or understand what the pro players are doing, to not speak in such absolute terms. Rather than saying a player is doing something wrong, the casters could instead elaborate on the possibilities of the decisions being made. Or at least put it in different terms besides "he forgot storm". That's such an assumption and it annoys me to see those jumps in logic being made as tho they are mind readers. Obviously there ARE moments where mistakes are made and an upgrade is clearly forgotten or a building is made twice, that's not what I'm referring to.
I also wanna point out that I'm a huge fan of Nathanias I think he is a terrific caster. This new (to me) Pengwin guy is doing a nice job as well I hope to see more of him.
On another note I think it speaks volumes of just how easy it is for boosted medivacs to tear apart the protoss between three bases in that deciding 3rd game there. I think the benefits of having speed prisms would be less about harass and more about splitting armies similar to how Terran and Zerg are able to with their very, very fast units (Stim bio, speedlings, speedroaches, mutas, speedvacs) As for Toss all we really have are Phoenix and blink stalkers. Unfortunately blink stalkers and phoenix just cant do the amount of quick and heavy damage comparatively to the other races. Not trying to make this thread into balance discussion, just my thoughts after watching this nice back and forth series.

I really fail to see how medivac drops can be blame in this particular series .

WHo can explain to me why more than 5-6 marines need to be sent to destroy a freaking overlord..../ SOmetimes decision making by these "pro" outside of Korea is puzzling //////

O...M....G... that last attack. Kas was impressed.
|
Oh, wow. Uzer won there. Unexpected, at least for me.
|
Wow nice comp there, I liked it.
|
Horrible positioning by Kas. He kinda gave up after losing that cc. Fighting without tanks is never a good idea. :/
|
Attack with Hydras, keep attacking Refinery with Roaches, win the game... Great skill toi have!
|
GG uzer, see you in Premier. Congrats!

But was he really there to kill the OL? I think it was because he wanted to go and siege up the fourth.

Those fungals on the ramp made so much difference in that battle! The marines could all get killed without the tanks interfering too much!
Congrats to Uzer!

A bit shocked. Gratz Uzer!!

Well, he was going MMMT that is looks like a pretty good counter to roach hydra. It was pretty reasonable to move out. Unfortunately for Kas uzer built infestors and landed every fungal, turning the odds into his favor.

Yeah, this is WCS EU Challanger and not Code S, clearly some differences will show. Kas built the sensor tower to feel safe from that kind of runby... it just did not work.

Uzer did not get the memo stating that roach/hydra and the nerfed infestor are all worthless. Hi refused to tech up or play 4+ base macro games but put on some aggression instead with the "wrong" units.
He dealt pretty nice with drops, hellion-reaper harassment etc. Also, he managed to transition out of a semi-failed roach-bust into roach-nydus all-in in final game vs Kas.
Pretty good games overall, but not that spectacular.

I see what you mean, but OTOH in this system you have to lose FIVE BO3s to go from Premier to being out (2 in Premier group, 1 in Challenger brackets, and 2 in Challenger groups). The best performance that still eliminates you:
2-1 (5-2) in Premier RO32 1-2 (4-4) in Premier RO16 0-1 (1-2) in Challenger Bracket 0-2 (2-4) in Challenger groups === 3-5 (12-12)
Hm ok now that I typed that out it's not such a bad performance overall, but still it's based on many matches.

Up to 8 now, and we know that Bunny doesn't feel like losing to protoss in HotS, so he should be 9th; also I expect at least one of the others, probably Thorzain, to make it as well... Terran will be fine, around 10 of 32, a nice balanced number. But yeah I did expect Kas to get through, uzer showed surprisingly good ZvT.
Also this is the moment when we don't hear a pip anymore out of this russian Pirat guy who seems to get off on criticizing russian players every time... A great moment to have in a day.

Yeah, we got 8 terrans in PL now but half of them are Koreans. If you count them out (+TAILS) you can take a snapshot at the eu scene: 4T, 7P, 10Z... yuck, this does have some WoL-ish feel. I'd like to see at least 3 out of the four remaining terrans making it through to PL (Thorzain, Bunny, DarkHydra, Krass). I think it's doable.

DarkHydra has to compete with MC and Nerchio, I see his chances being at near zero to make it out over them. I could see one of Bunny/Krass (as they are in the same group and with a pretty good Korean toss) and then Thorzain. I see 1, most likely 2. Which is kind of sad, I thought Kas was a shoe in.

Neither MC nor Nerchio is looking all that hot, DarkHydra may pull an upset. Also Tails is beatable, just look how many tries he had to take to get into CL.
I hope we'll get a fair share of eu T.

I'm not ready to count them out, they occupy a spot. If they weren't here, who is to say that other european terrans wouldn't have taken these missing spots? Strelok was close, Kas was close... You can't just take that number of "4" and leave it at that, as if the other terrans were far behind and never had any chance.
I always think race distribution is more important than nationality, but you seem to disagree given your last post.

European terran is vastly underrepresented within the PL... and if the last remaining spots are taken by 3T, 2P and 1Z we'll get a perfect 11/11/10 split. So having 3 T's advance is good both for the EU scene and the total balance of RO32.

Maybe I'm just not familiar enough with DarkHydra but I still see both Nerchio and MC miles ahead of him even in their "less hot" forms.
EDIT: In fact MC 2-0'd DarkHydra to get into the Challenger League in the first place (semifinals of one of the qualifiers)

Wow, congrats to Uzer. What an upset

Feast got a pretty raw deal here. Qualified for Premier out of like 4000 players, made the ro16 and lost 1-2, 1-2. Then lost the last round of Challenger 1-2, and then drops out of WCS alltogether

Noooooooo, Kas T_T
Still, yaaaaay, TitaN!
Only he'll probaly choke horribly again in the Ro32.
