He's not talking about the other mirrors. TvT has entertainment value but PvP is pretty devoid of any benefits besides protoss player's learning and aesthetic appeal (ty Mike's wife).

PvP is very interesting even through the seemingly passive midgame. The unit dancing to get into a better position, build order wars, mindgames, all continue during a lull period. Only one with a shallow understanding of the game, who seeks constant fights solely, will find PvP boring.

I don't play toss and I think PvP has become more interesting since HoTS, with early game stargates becoming viable its has become really hectic in the early game. The late game has become a bit more interesting with the ability to counter colossus with tempest so not all games are just colossus wars.
Although Protoss does do better in bo1 scenarios, the real problem is the lack of good Terran players in Kespa. You have Flash, Fantasy and Bogus but after that is quickly deteriorates in quality.

You can say the same for ESF's terrans.
There are a lot more of them though, on most Proleague teams there is only one Terran on the team that has the potential to be sent out.

hmm I disagree, I think there are more than 3 ESF terrans which are really good.

Not really.
Yoda, Bomber, Gumiho, MKP, MVP, Supernova, Byun, Keen, Maru. May as well count Ryung and Taeja even though they're technically not ESF
Outside of those he mentioned for Kespa...I see Last, Reality, Skyhigh, Cure, and Baby and that's being generous
The only teams in GSTL that don't have two Terran players worth sending out are Azubu and Hoseo, every other GSTL team has at least two good Terran players. Every team in Proleague except STX Soul only has 1 Terran that they field every match or nearly every match.
You also have Axiom-Acer and Prime with 3 Terran players on each team that they like to send out frequently(or in the case of Prime, every match).
So while bo1 definitely favors Protoss, it has more to do with the lack of Terrans playing in SPL than anything else.
EG-TL would also have two good Terrans if they would field Taeja every time, but he's very infrequent.

The terran race was pretty much carried by Flash/Fantasy/Bogus towards the end of BW too. Losing MVP, Forgg, Classic, Really, Sea and Leta left the mid-tier SPL terran count pretty thin for SC2.
well hyvaa played pretty well after he got ultras but that slip on his part and having to run all over the place etc... was too much for him. Bring out INNOVATION!

Don't listen to the casters... it isn't really the same build. Innovation got his 2nd gas as soon as his factory finish while flash got it a little later
flash finally showing what to do when you're ahead, you split your army up so that they have to commit their whole army/tanks to hold your main army while attacking on another side
props to innovation too, he played insanely well even though he was down 15 scvs from the start, taking aggressive risks which did pay off and allowed him to claw back a bit

i dunno though if I like bio, i considered flash's BW mech/bio-mech to be the overall strongest style in the game. sure his TvZ bio was good too but his mech flattened opponent after opponent in never seen before fashion.

oh didn't know this, interesting. Well, he did think he would be able to move on then got 2-1'd by Innovation, 2-0'd by Parting and was out first. Consider that in BW, he was always #1 and I can see how he would be extremely upset after that.

Well duh. Any players chance to beat Flash in a standard macro game are low as hell.

What happened in the game?
Flash got a good drop off then ran hellions in as well, took out lots of workers. He took a faster third after his lead and kept up his macro. Innovation made a good effort to get back in, defended a 4 medivac drop from Flash well but then he made couple of mistakes and his late third and upgrades meant Flash had the better army/upgrades and he took out his third, sandwiched his marines towards the end then just rolled his remaining 7-8 tanks and couple of marines with a huge marine+tank army.

both opened quick medivac drop and dropped at the same time. Flash handled it way better and took basically no damage while killing 10-15 of innovations scvs. then the game transitioned into a normal macro game with both going marine tank, flash having a nice lead and basically winning with superior macro and positioning
Its time we recognize, each is on a similar skill level and each game goes for the throat! This is Larry Bird vs. Michael Jordan or Nadal vs. Roger Federer man.
I believe we are seeing the greatest rivalry in SC2 history (NOT Broodwar to be clear) right here.
And before you say anything, I do not mean they are equals, of course Flash's resume dwarfs Innovations/Bogus'. I am just saying, these two are going blow to blow right now, showing amazing games and its impossible to predict who comes out ahead which makes it a big time rivalry.
Idra's rivalries were cool though, not high level like these games, more BM festivals. I still like HuK v Naniwa but I feel Naniwa blows away Huk in skill now. So I believe Flash vs. Bogus is the best rivalry ever in SC2.

Innovation and Flash are very similar as players. They are the most complete form of Terran we've seen since the beginning of SC2, both being the best as far as Terrans go in a multitude of gameplay aspects, such as mechanical proficiency, overall multitasking, decision making and game sense, defensive and offensive capabilities, mental stability, etc.. I would say Innovation is a bit more on the offensive side of things: he cheeses and goes for timing attacks more than Flash, while Flash retains his BW style of perfect defense to back up consistently "greedy" play.
Saying that one is way better than the other because of a Bo1 or even a GSL Bo3 is almost disrespectful when you see how far they both are of their Terran counterparts :D
I'm just glad we somehow got 2 Terran monsters out of Kespa, while the rest looks fairly weak. I like to think of them as "Mvp Mk II" (for "Mark", not MKP related :p). Mvp was very complete as well in 2011 but the competition was weaker than it is currently and looking back, Mvp was most likely not as overall skilled as these two.

You of all people know that so called fanboys are either trolls with the intent of soliciting reaction from frequent browsers such as yourself, or idiots who are beyond saving, best solution is to ignore them. Lumping everyone who say positive things about a player to be fanboys is really annoying.

I think Last has shown a bit of potential in his play, at least as far as TvZ is concerned. What with him practicing with Bogus, I'd say the future might hold good things for him.
Then again for all we know, some random B-teamer might end up becoming the next big thing. :S
Watching the vods now on youtube, thought I'd hit 'translate captions (beta)' for laughs. Only option available was Afrikaans, and despite knowing a little Korean, being fluent in Dutch (base language for Afrikaans) and English, it was so messed up ^^ The translation algorithm couldn't make up its mind whether it was about politics, industrial production or sports, which, combined with 5% transliterated words, did me more harm than good. So I turned the captions back to Korean, at least I could learn something from that ^^

How so?
People were saying he's having much better TvT than Flash but they forget that many of Innovations wins were all-ins/ cheeses. The chances for Innovation to win a macro game vs Flash are very low to be honest.
they seem like rather lame attempts to bash bogus after a loss
i'm sure you recognise that flash fans are often some of the more passionate ones that can get... caught up in the moment
You of all people know that so called fanboys are either trolls with the intent of soliciting reaction from frequent browsers such as yourself, or idiots who are beyond saving, best solution is to ignore them. Lumping everyone who say positive things about a player to be fanboys is really annoying.
opterown just wants to keep his post count high, so he needs to react to everything.

My thoughts exactly. I really like protoss match-ups in HotS, but too many in PL is gonna make it boring at some point. Even GSL that has always contained very few protoss, the number of protoss is historically high this season, even bigger than the number of T for the first time in code A+S (but a bit lower than Z).

I thought Bogus was pretty good when I first saw him play back in BW, I wouldn't classify him as a joke 2 years ago. Didn't he have a high winrate off the bat?

I said until 2 years ago, hes been an active pro since 2008.
it was only after the scandal which left STX out of their only good terran did bogus start to not only play more but start stepping it up.
I wonder how flash's gsl matches would've gone if he had gone for bio mech instead of mech against innovation. His control and army engagements are just so solid with bio units.
I'm glad Flash managed to pull a win against Bogus. I was starting to worry Bogus was going to be Flash's cryptonite in TvT and everyone would use that to put Flash down

He's 5 - 3 vs innovation now
5 - 4 vs innovation now
it was 4 - 4 before this match up.
Aha. Guess TLPD sucks.
but honestly idk where that 1 up from innovation came from...
im assuming they fought in WoL in proleague in early round?

Aaah what a lovely TvT treat at the end there I'm getting sick of seeing so many PvPs in Proleague these days.. The early game is ok but the long macro games that end in a 5 second laser fight are so god damn boring. Wish there were more terrans of Bogus' and Flash's caliber!
