Creator vs sOs will be pretty sick. Sucks about the scores. Guess I can't add them to Aligulac :/ good chance for some crossover in point pools between esf and kespa to try and balance out the rankings better

There are 14 Kespa players, 14 ESF players, and 4 of neither.

It's funny that eSport is not that 100% an indoor game. I remember some ESWC (03?) was held on an outdoor stage. Same thing for last year Tougeki (which caused some real-life bugs to attack the machines)
I'm going to do an English stream for this, (as of right now its audio-only), but I am in contact with the tournament organizers to possibly get in game and cast these games LIVE!

Awesome, hopefully if a full English stream gets going foreigner interest in this event will spike!
Basically the other countries didn't send Starcraft players, they had guys who were from other games play Starcraft. Here's a good quote from that thread:

Thats how Flash played in Broodwar as well. Besides his general plan to base his builds on advantages into the midgame and crush his opponents, he'll often take risks. While this looks stupid right now, I feel that this is needed for him to improve. He will slowly change his build with minimal changes. Once he has his build setup complete, he will be able to go into the midgame just as advantageous but also be able to defend such an allin. It just takes time to work it out. Lots of players make the mistake to completely throw a build out the window when it doesn't seem to work or make big changes, when sometimes little changes can make a build that didn't work previously into a genius build.

Basically this. He's working his build out right now. Much like how Flash went 14cc. ANd he lost something like 9-10 tvz in a row in PL or something..something ridiculous and people were laughing over how he's still resorting to the build even when its clearly not working..and then one day..he found some magical formula that makes it invulnerable to most all-ins and he started to beat up everyone with it. he's still at that tweaking phase. The way Soulkey embarassed Flash in the last SPL is a prime example that Flash still doesnt know all of Zerg's capability and doesnt have game sense fot HoTS yet

If you follow KeSPA you have clear idea sOs is one of the best players right now and also main contender to win this GSL. Spotlight = hype around the player. Always follow statistics, they don't lie

well if you followed statistics, then there would be quite a few GSL winners who weren't statistically favoured to be there, as well as a few players considered "best" by statistics that never won a gsl haha

Yeah sOs doesn't have huge list of achievements, thats why its generally better to check how good the player is just by reffering to his recent results. Good rule of thumb is to look into Proleague rankings, they are usually indication of who are the best players in the world right now, and i don't think its gonna change.
sOs was a promising young protoss player on Hwaseung OZ. Unfortunatley Hwaseung never managed developped any good players. sOs and Dear both became really strong when they changed teams.

I don't recall Life saying Flash plays greedily. He said Flash doesn't appear to care about the early all-ins (which I'm sure Flash cares; he's still in the process of learning the game). He also said that Flash has gotten a lot better recently. Personally, Flash went through the same period of struggle when he switched to WoL. He is the type of player who would stick to one type of build strategy (not build order) until he completely masters it.

Life: To be honest, his strategy and playstyle is too limited, and for me, I like players like him. When it comes to macro he really is very strong, but he plays too greedily, and basically seems to eliminate any possibility that the opponent might all-in him in all his games.

cmon flash. Literally every single game I've seen you lose is in the first 15min. Gotta learn to stop the allins, seems like thats the only way they beat you.
Haha Life even said so in his interview, that Flash plays really greedily (and seems to just assume that people won't all-in him), and so he just went offensive mode
Actually I'd trust jellyjello over me in this case haha. He probably read the interview in Korean and would have a better grasp of what Life actually said My translation was done from a Chinese translation of the interview original interview.

If it gave you an exemption, would Life forfeit it? Life forfeited his spot to compete in this tournament because of schedule conflict with mlg Anaheim. Flash, who got eliminated in ro4, will be replacing Life. This also means that Flash is not coming to the upcoming mlg

only Olympians are exempted from military service, but they have to work for like 365 days a year

Is this confirmed???? Did Flash accept this?
it is confirmed. Its not a matter of Flash accepting it because Kespa wants to promote this really bad considering the fact that he is in a kespa team.

Current conscription laws stipulate that athletes who win medals in the Olympic Games or gold medals in the Asian Games are granted exemptions but still required to do four weeks of basic training. In 2011, the Military Manpower Administration proposed amendments to the exemptions: to include men who have not completed middle school, and to change to a points-based system on a prescribed scale for athletes who win in prestigious competitions. This is partly to address criticism for the easy exemptions and to recognise the privilege to those who show steady performance.

That's the thing. I know for a fact that the law covers the Asian Summer games (there was a well publicized case of a Korean MLB player that pondered dodging the draft until he won a gold medal at the Asian Summer Games) and I am fairly confident it covers the Winter Asian Games, but I'm not sure if it covers the "extra" (Indoor & Martial Arts and Beach) Asian Games.
