No, "indoor" includes games and chess, etc. and "martial arts" means actual martial arts like boxing, taekwondo, etc.

인천 실내무도 아시아 경기대회

So basically just games played indoors... and SC2 apparently is part of that.
They are also doing qualifiers for LoL and TTT2.

It's an event/festival with a ton of oddball real sports and six e-sport titles. Tekken, Fifa, LoL, SC2 and two others I forget. Probably Special Forces and something else.

No, the games are in the "indoor" part. The logo actually says "Indoor & Martial Arts" which is a better descriptor.

The 2009 Asian Indoor Games (which had not yet been merged with the Asian Martial Arts Games) also had e-sports. In BW, Flash beat Fantasy to win.

Nice! Nestea finally does what he should have done when he picked him way back at the beginning of 2012 :p

too bad I fucking can't see him in action again...

especially since Bogus is going to kill him ;;

If MKP beats Mvp but no one is there to watch it, did it really happen?

Creator vs sOs will be pretty sick. Sucks about the scores. Guess I can't add them to Aligulac :/ good chance for some crossover in point pools between esf and kespa to try and balance out the rankings better

I don't think '김한별' is FXO.Crane because it was told that he qualified through non-Kespa, non-ESF qualifier (just like the.stc, Son, and someone I am missing.)

but...Mvp would not stand a chance vs Flash...not then. not now.

Eh, I wouldn't say it matters too much seeing how the last AIG starcraft event ended up going. The preliminaries are the real competition here.

I am not sure if the final will be played or not, but if it is played, it will be played today.

The winner and the runner-up will play on June, against other players from other Asian countries.

It's funny that eSport is not that 100% an indoor game. I remember some ESWC (03?) was held on an outdoor stage. Same thing for last year Tougeki (which caused some real-life bugs to attack the machines)

Eh, I wouldn't say it matters too much seeing how the last AIG starcraft event ended up going. The preliminaries are the real competition here.

So I looked it up on wiki, and the finals was Flash vs. Fantasy? How did it go?

You can check out the TL thread here

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=104536

Basically the other countries didn't send Starcraft players, they had guys who were from other games play Starcraft. Here's a good quote from that thread:

Edit: If you were asking specifically how Flash vs Fantasy went, I actually have no idea. I don't think there was a stream for it.

Oh my goodness, that is amazing! xD A hilarious incident for sure, though probably only a complete waste of time for Flash and Fantasy. It's a pity F91 couldn't go, though, that would have made things a little bit more interesting.

Meanwhile, Flash is good at starcraft. Dannnggg.

the event organizers probably didn't request for it to be linked on TL as this is a korean event and not targeted at the english audience.

Soulkey's build was really cool though, he got burrow so Flash couldn't find them even if he looked unless he got really lucky and caught them right when they were unburrowed.

meaning what? this is the place to hang out and watch the games

if they weren't going to show the replay right after then I wouldn't mind saying the result without a spoiler tag but we're going to watch it right now.

Hey, Flash, the ultimate build order doesn't exist in TvZ, try different build rather than doing the same thing in all your games.

It seems like every time he makes it to the mid/lategame not dead he wins with this build, but he loses to all ins a lot.

Maybe time to try some stuff that's not fast third CC macro mode.

Thats how Flash played in Broodwar as well. Besides his general plan to base his builds on advantages into the midgame and crush his opponents, he'll often take risks. While this looks stupid right now, I feel that this is needed for him to improve. He will slowly change his build with minimal changes. Once he has his build setup complete, he will be able to go into the midgame just as advantageous but also be able to defend such an allin. It just takes time to work it out. Lots of players make the mistake to completely throw a build out the window when it doesn't seem to work or make big changes, when sometimes little changes can make a build that didn't work previously into a genius build.

Basically this.
He's working his build out right now.
Much like how Flash went 14cc.
ANd he lost something like 9-10 tvz in a row in PL or something..something ridiculous and people were laughing over how he's still resorting to the build even when its clearly not working..and then one day..he found some magical formula that makes it invulnerable to most all-ins and he started to beat up everyone with it.
he's still at that tweaking phase.
The way Soulkey embarassed Flash in the last SPL is a prime example that Flash still doesnt know all of Zerg's capability and doesnt have game sense fot HoTS yet

shy going to win this season of gsl just to troll fionn for being too early
also artosis said it's only a matter of time before shy is figured out so he probably wont go too deep. seems like a good combo to win

shy going to win this season of gsl just to troll fionn for being too early
also artosis said it's only a matter of time before shy is figured out so he probably wont go too deep. seems like a good combo to win

So far as I can tell, Fionn does enjoy racking up those hipster points.

I agree. That is the Flash way.

That was kind of impressive from Shy. He's seriously good with a 20-9 record in PL or something like that.

Also, kespa won 73% of the games (16-6) against the others, taking 7 out of 9 series. Disappointing result from Rain, losing in the first round.

Life beating (again) Flash. It is becoming a meme. And those players that SoS did take out. I've heard he did well in PL and all but still. The guy needs a little more spotlight on him.

If you follow KeSPA you have clear idea sOs is one of the best players right now and also main contender to win this GSL. Spotlight = hype around the player. Always follow statistics, they don't lie

well if you followed statistics, then there would be quite a few GSL winners who weren't statistically favoured to be there, as well as a few players considered "best" by statistics that never won a gsl haha

Those were dark and chaotic times mate, before KeSPA teams joined in :D. Such a stacked tournament, yet top 4 consist of 3 KeSPA best ranked players and Life (best player overall right now).

Yeah sOs doesn't have huge list of achievements, thats why its generally better to check how good the player is just by reffering to his recent results. Good rule of thumb is to look into Proleague rankings, they are usually indication of who are the best players in the world right now, and i don't think its gonna change.

sOs was a promising young protoss player on Hwaseung OZ. Unfortunatley Hwaseung never managed developped any good players. sOs and Dear both became really strong when they changed teams.

The VODs that were linked starts with a PvP, so seems the Flash vs Fantasy game that was shown from RO32 aren't there. Anyone got any idea where to find it?

This is preview of GSL.

I predict

Flash/Life/Bogus/Shy to reach this season GSL semis.
These players are so freaking solid.

Shy is making a serious case for best Protoss player in the world. If he keeps playing like this he'll easily surpass Rain and Parting.

I'm having the same problem, no Fanta vs Flash.

Question: anyone knows if winning a gold medal at the Asian Indoor & Martial Arts Games give you exemption from military service? I know it is the case for the Asian Summer Games, but not sure for the rest.

flash beats life with his 140 push.

life goes on to do 2 baneling/roachlingbane allins to take the series

cmon flash. Literally every single game I've seen you lose is in the first 15min. Gotta learn to stop the allins, seems like thats the only way they beat you.

I don't recall Life saying Flash plays greedily. He said Flash doesn't appear to care about the early all-ins (which I'm sure Flash cares; he's still in the process of learning the game). He also said that Flash has gotten a lot better recently. Personally, Flash went through the same period of struggle when he switched to WoL. He is the type of player who would stick to one type of build strategy (not build order) until he completely masters it.

Life: To be honest, his strategy and playstyle is too limited, and for me, I like players like him. When it comes to macro he really is very strong, but he plays too greedily, and basically seems to eliminate any possibility that the opponent might all-in him in all his games.

Actually I'd trust jellyjello over me in this case haha. He probably read the interview in Korean and would have a better grasp of what Life actually said My translation was done from a Chinese translation of the interview original interview.

It's really odd that this tournament was not given more attention considering the lineup.

What's noteworthy is sos's line of opponents: roro, creator, effort, innovation, and life. Really looking forward to his games tonight now.

it is confirmed. Its not a matter of Flash accepting it because Kespa wants to promote this really bad considering the fact that he is in a kespa team.

Current conscription laws stipulate that athletes who win medals in the Olympic Games or gold medals in the Asian Games are granted exemptions but still required to do four weeks of basic training. In 2011, the Military Manpower Administration proposed amendments to the exemptions: to include men who have not completed middle school, and to change to a points-based system on a prescribed scale for athletes who win in prestigious competitions. This is partly to address criticism for the easy exemptions and to recognise the privilege to those who show steady performance.

That's the thing. I know for a fact that the law covers the Asian Summer games (there was a well publicized case of a Korean MLB player that pondered dodging the draft until he won a gold medal at the Asian Summer Games) and I am fairly confident it covers the Winter Asian Games, but I'm not sure if it covers the "extra" (Indoor & Martial Arts and Beach) Asian Games.
