Hello everyone!
It comes with great pleasure to announce that Team NrG. has decided to make a return to SC2. After almost a year off, a few core members and I have started working hard in order to reform the team and compile a promising roster of hopeful new players. Things are going great, but since we haven't officially announced our return yet, we have had a hard time attracting attention. Which is why we chose to host a Recruitment Tournament in order to announce to the community that we are back and looking for players.

Hopefully many people will recognize our name, but I will give a brief description of our past, present form, and future goals.
Team NrG. started as a Starcraft: Broodwar team in 2006. Ever since then we have worked hard to provide a welcoming atmosphere for aspiring competitive players to really reap the full benefits of being in a team. We pride ourselves on our closely-knit team nature, and feel it is a great contributor to our success. We have carried sponsorships both in BroodWar and SC2: Wings of liberty, and although the latter did not end so well, we have learned some valuable lessons over the years. Our current plan is simple: We hope to add 2-3 more members to our roster before attempting to compete in as many team events and online individual events as possible, in hopes to reach a level of success that is similar to what we had in the past.
We are looking for players with the drive, determination and work ethic to get better. Players we have been targeting have all shown they are willing to work hard to improve to grow as players and help the team grow as well. On top of that, a positive attitude is a must. Fitting in with our team is just as important as showing how competent you are in the game, so if you feel you have a hard time getting along with others, then this event might not be for you  This is our current roster:

Sign-up Deadline: Saturday April 27th, 12:00 pm EST, 9:00 am PST (3 hours before the tour starts)
To sign up for this event, simply post your ID, Character code and race in this thread. To make things easier for us, you can post a rough estimate of you points and or rank. We are looking for Masters players and above only, if you are not masters on NA for some reason and feel you can make a decent run at winning this, then please PM me and I will discuss it with you in private. The tournament is open to players from ALL regions, although please note that our team is based out of NA, and our time zones are all relatively similar, so it might be difficult for people of some countries to truly benefit from things like practice and events.
Replays must be submitted Every Round by the winner, and since I will be running this tournament I will be around to remind everyone, and to provide an e-mail address for them to do so. Replay submission is a very important part of this tournament, please don't forget. Every round has a pre-determined starting map. Upon the completion of game 1, the loser will get to chose the map for game number 2, but only after the winner chooses 1 veto to eliminate from the loser's choice. Example: Game 1 is played on daybreak. The winner veto's whirlwind, so for game 2 the loser can pick any map from the pool except whirlwind. The same procedure will apply for any games needed after that within the same series. Lastly, only observers from Team NrG. will be allowed, for fairness' sake.

The format for this tournament will be A single-elimination bracket consisting of Best-of-3 series until the semi finals and finals, which will both consist of best-of-5 series. As stated previously, each round has a pre-determined starting map. The rounds will play out as follows:
Round 1 (Bo3): Daybreak LE
Round 2 (Bo3): MLG Star Station (*Note: This map is cross spawn only)
Round 3 (Bo3): Whirldwind LE
Round 4 (Bo3): Bel'Shir Vestige
Round 5 (Bo5): MLG Star Station
Round 6 Bo5): Daybreak LE
On top of these startmaps, the map pool will also consist of:
Map Pool
Akilon Wastes
Neo Planet S LE
[Official] KeSPA Fighting Spirit
[Official] KeSPA Korhal Floating Island
[Official] KeSPA Naro Station
Losers can chose from any of the previously stated maps, as long as it isn't the startmap of the round. (If both players agree, the startmap can be played again).

Here is a list of our applicants so far. The current cap is 64 players, but we might be being slightly optimistic  There will be no limit on players signing up, as we will make it work with any number we have. We will get a better idea of just how many people we will have as the week progresses, and startmaps and rounds may have to be tweaked a bit (semi-finals may be moved to bo3 if it looks like it will be a time constraint).

The winner of the tournament will be invited to Team NrG. upon replay review and a brief discussion with the team. Be smart about it guys, we obviously don't want some one who 6 pooled their way to 1st place, or cannon rushed 80% of the games. We also don't want some one who will disturb our current environment, so its easy, just don't be a jerk As previously stated, we want some one who shows they have potential and the willingness to grow as a skilled player. Aside from the winner, every player who enters to tournament will be viewed at one point during the tournament, whether it be from observers or replays. Everyone signed up has an opportunity to be contacted by the team, so play your best and good things may come.
We want to wish everyone luck in this event, and we really hope to find a diamond in the rough. All in all, it just feels really good to be back, and since we have never done something like this before we really have no idea what to expect. We hope the community supports us as much as they can, and we invite you to join us in our journey to rebuild our team thanks everyone! GL HF~

Luckyfool is too busy running across the world to play
I returned to SC2 because the remaining NrG members were looking for a team, and I really missed running the team. It has been a pretty prominent part of my life for the last few years so it's really hard to give up.

Since his involvement with TeamLiquid he doesn't have much time to play, and his administrative efforts are being put towards TL We are still buddies and we did speak to him before we announced the rebuild phase, but he decided it was best for him to keep his priority on TL which is understandable.

I actually felt like buying this game so that I could wreak havoc on nerd dreams, but remembered that I'm not actually good anyway.
EDIT: really though, it is an amazing feeling to have a game of yourself commentated. Win or loss, it's quite awesome to have someone do even as little as recognize your name. When you're an up-and-coming or hopeful player (like most of those who will sign up,) it's a great feeling.

What bamboo said is pretty spot on. We can't have people participating who don't want to join, it wouldn't be fair. But if you care to cover some of the games that would be awesome

Great to see this occurring, NrG is one of the few team names that carries weight and is staffed by intelligent and respectable individuals. If you remember sixjax you only know a small piece of the puzzle that is NrG. Best wishes to whoever wins this because they will be fortunate to be apart of a great team who is once again going to be in the upper echelon of North American teams!
