The most teams/players there are, the most the regularity should be rewarded and not a random match among five. well with mapscore its also that "random" map win of andypandy (no disrespect!) vs Babyknight which makes all the difference (else both BabyK and ForGG are +2) - do you really think 1 map loss against a player who went 0-5 is a better indicator of skill than winning vs the guy you are tied with in series? we also have to consider that some matchups are more volatile than others so dropping 1 map is more likely for some races. There has been some analysis a year or so ago which showed that Terrans had a way lower chance to lose vs weaker players in all 3 matchups than P and Z had, with PvP being the most volatile matchup. | ||

The word "random" was not the correct one. What I wanted to say is that every single match should count the same way, except if there is an exact tie. For me, it's the principle of a pool which is different from a bracket. But, well, it's over now. But all the major tournaments with pools use mapscore over H2H. It's weird to see that now. | ||
