And when it starts it will probably end very quickly. The irony!

I know lots of people here predicted that HOTS would shrink the skill gap for a while everything is still a bit of a mystery but damn. I don't actually understand it, I was so certain that we'd see a lot of foreigner upsets. What I think might be the case is that because terran is able to play the same as they used to, but with new medivacs, Korean terrans can just crush through all opposition. I think that if the balance was different, with more focus on new units and all-in strategies, we'd see Koreans not doing so well, since they played less HotS. Dude I don't understand at all how you thought the foreigners had any chance. Did you even play in the beta? Everything about HoTS has made the skill cap for each race go up, the multitasking requirements for Zerg and Protoss have been substantially increased both to deal with what their opponents can throw at them and also to maximize their new units. And that bodes poorly for the foreign scene whose best players are by and large exclusively Zerg and Protoss players. The metagame right now completely favors the way that Koreans like to play. What ever gave you the idea that HoTS would make things easier for foreigners? Everything I saw in beta said the exact opposite. Foreigners should do better precisely because the skill cap went up, since they had more practice with all the new units and strats. For instance, I saw TLO on his stream using swarm hosts in a really cool manner and I was quite convinced that very few Korean players would know how to deal with them. (Obviously given time the Koreans would dominate again.) But I guess I was wrong. :o | ||
