NASL Announces Casterbash!![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/t1VrMNx.png)
This Saturday, February 9th, the North American Star League introduces the Caster Bash, featuring Ret of Team Liquid. In the Caster Bash, Ret will face the NASL casters MrBitter, RotterdaM, Gretorp, and Frodan in four Bo1 showmatches in Heart of the Swarm.
So that the casters have no excuses if they lose, they will get to choose the map for each game. For each match Ret wins, he will receive $25. However, if he loses, he will be punished.
If Ret loses one game, he will then have to cast that game with the caster who defeated him. If he loses two or more games, his fate is uncertain.

If he loses to 2 or more casters, he has to create an account with that caster's ID and achieve a high rank in the grandmaster league
Uh if he loses 3 games he has to make an account that has EG.raidcall in it

They're only playing 4 games...
Gogo Gretorp. The hope lies with you!
So this kinda comes to how well can Ret prepare for them cheeses
Sounds like a fun evening of stream.

Rotterdam and Gretorp probably have the best chances, and maybe MrBitter. I'm not sure what level Frodan is though, heck, I don't even know what race he mains.

Odds (for people wanting to bet in chat):
Gretorp: 3.7-1 Frodan: 10-1 Ben: 10-1 Kevin: 3.7-1

Should be a lot of fun guys, I wanna state that this show is really just run by us, it's not an official NASL Show, it's just something extra that us casters wanted to do since we are just doing the pulse atm, hope you guys will enjoy the show and its definitely something we wanna do for a little while ^_^
Looks to be a fun little event. Surprised that so few people are posting here and tuning in. Ret will probably 4-0, but wouldn't be surprised to see a 3-1 score.

Have faith, Rotti will cheese him out

This is awesome, frodan is gonna do it
Reapers still quite underwhelming :c
Nice opening from Frodan though, no doubt. xD
Frodan playing pretty well. I'm impressed
the korean zerg coming on the show in 2 weeks must be drg!
Suddenly banelings. o_O
Ret under 50 drones past 11 minutes, that's not something you see every day. O_o
Oh wow the carnage... gg
Pretty good try by Frodan. Didn't know he was this good.
Result was expected, but Frodan played extremely well. Call me impressed
Frodan needed more Widow mines, a lot more
Enjoying this a lot. Good stuff!
The old grudge match is on, go Rotti :D.
WP Frodan, really enjoyed the game!

Ret is right, they're op as hell once you get a stable army around them. I called this the second I first saw them.
Rotterdam, leader of the double robo bay metagame.
I just tuned in an Ret is up 50 supply and a base... I can't see rotti winning
Man that was such a slaughter >_<

There are free units murdering 300/200 colossi. Well.
Poor Rotti, phoenix harass wasn't too effective, he didn't play perfectly and Ret rolled him with pure macro.
Been a long while since I heard that swarmhost is OP.

With so much of the HOTS conversation focused around widow mines, hellbats, and protoss air, this is the first time I've heard anything about swarm hosts. Ret certainly made them look good there, though.
Well infestors weren't labeled OP in the beta, it even takes pro players some time to figure out how to effectively use some units.
Edit: I guarantee Oracles being called OP not for their damage or harass ability but for their revelation ability as soon as every protoss uses them late game and has constant vision of the opponent's army!

They were buffed quite a bit after beta. It's just surprising because swarmhost should be a viable alternative to infestor but didn't seem that way till now.

It's just the concept itself. Protoss detection is TERRIBLE against zerg. That and the fact that locusts are free. Free units trading with super expensive units + you have a super hard time taking out the source. It's protoss hell. Of course swarm hosts alone can be taken out but the unit composition basically does the same as BL/infestor. Except it's burrowed. The strength is exactly the same.
I guess you have to hit revelation before they burrow and kill the army while it lasts.

I agree, revelation will counter this when you hit them as they move and change locations.

Wow, Gretorp plays pretty good!
Wow, I've forgotten Gretorp used to be a professional player - it shows! He has excellent control of mid-late game, which is super hard. He probably won't win, but he's putting up a (long) fight!

Damn, Gretorp looking gooooood! Not liking Ret's decisionmaking but still, that's some impressive shit from Gretorp.
I feel Ret is playing a bit with him aswell though
I think this game shows why the swarmhost is not just a "burrowed broodlord"
On February 10 2013 05:20 Lysanias wrote:I feel Ret is playing a bit with him aswell though On the other hand, I wouldn't count on Ret having good lategame control.

LOL, Swarm Hosts so OP, huh?
Ahahahah, Gretorp you hero!
Really love this show so far!! Great job guys!
AWesome win by Gretorp!

Aye well played Gretorp !
better than ladder
JK AWESOME! Gretorp superstar :D
Well this is standard PvZ in hots now Rotti ^^. GG WP Gretorp! So sick!!! Really good warp prism action and base trade tactics.

Gretorp's siiiiick HerO-harassment won the game!
Yeah Gretorp. Really nice fun event. Props to whoever at NASL came up with it <3
When gretorp finds the prismatic aliment button he will be a real powerhouse.
Well played Gretorp, entertaining game.
Let's not forget here, when it comes to playing casters gretorp is pretty much in a league of his own. He definitely showed that off today :D
omg NASL casters are sooo good. O_o can't believe he just took down ret!
Plus gretorp plays random, I believe he's a better terran.

Rotti is on Gretorps level in sc2, but he is not in hots yet it seems.
Gretorp not only won, but did it in a great fashion, showcasing some great multitasking, fighting in 4 places at a time, moving all over the map, expanding, switching tech.
I am truly impressed! And it's a great idea to launch this, NASL apparently knows how to provide some entertainment
I wanna see Gretorp play Zerg in HotS against a Protoss or Terran pro.
HAHAHA, Gretorp smiling at camera like if he won code S :-D Nice ... Well player, sir. Very smart counterattacks, because if you get air army like he had, you won't kill that even with 50 corruptors.
it's rematch time

Btw if this style becomes standard PvZ, not only is it gonna be fun as hell to play but I'm gonna love to watch it because nothing suits HerO more.
stuff like this is why the NASL is my fav sc2 thing to follow
So next week unknown guy is Korean and a showman ("there's no showman like him"). So... MC?
Gretorp's multi-tasking and mobility was excellent, gave him small edges here and there, and soon, he was taking a supply lead. Pretty awesome game.

XLord maybe? But than, they would have 3 zergs in a row.

Ret beat Frodan and Rotti then lost to Gretorp, and now they're playing again since Bitter isn't around.

Thanks.

I really like Gretorp's simcity. Everything is so clean looking =P.
High Templar, Zealots and Immortals in PvZ against Hydras... interesting to see this in SC2. Although the Immortal is no Reaver, that's for sure.
Grats to Gretorp though, going 1-1 against Ret without being a professional player, and in PvZ to boot, is quite impressive. WP~ ^^

this show is too awesome, damn i just love it lol

Make it a BO3!

nice show guys

Well we do have at least two more weeks confirmed, the 2nd of which allegedly with a top korean Zerg. Definitely going to be fun, will tune in next time(s) as well! ^^
WP by the casters, Gretorp especially. I was hoping he would play Terran and research the forgotten ebay upgrades though xD

Dammit I missed it! And my comment was "most liked" on Facebook as well. Even Lauren liked it! I felt so special. Still, well played Gretorp, showing he's still got the skills. I hope I can catch the VoDs (if one can call them that).
I liked the episode, good ideas coming from you guys. Keep 'em coming NASL.
Feedback: I would've liked a little more conversation with Ret, but I only caught about the later half so perhaps I missed something.
Still, gg!

Updated for next episode: We're having White-Ra on the show!
On February 22 2013 08:05 NASL.tv wrote:Updated for next episode: We're having White-Ra on the show!
Is Gretorp prepared for special tactics?
Will Ben get to the studio on time?
Will Frodan secretly be replaced with Lauren at the last minute?
Will Rotti win a battle of oracles and phoenix, then be struck down when White-Ra performs the Rotti pose?
Is Chance really a grandmaster?
These questions and more may (or may not) be answered this week, on Casterbash!
+ Show Spoiler + Love the show. Viva la NASL.

I could see Rotti and Gretorp beating White-Ra. Rotti because it's PvP, Gretorp because he's awesome.

LOL, that's 200 gas every time that's being wasted without doing anything for those exits.

Anyone see a potential future for this swarm host nydus stuff? I kind of like it. Feels like something Leenock would try out in a series.

It's good for getting SHs across the map quickly, and more importantly it makes it easier to bring Queens, which is actually a better anti-air option than Hydras in some ways because they have longer AA range, can spread creep for locusts to move faster, and can transfuse. I'm sure we'll see it at some point in the GSL.
