The time has come for our forty-sixth IGN Pro League Fight Club! This is a weekly king of the hill showmatch series. Basically, there will be a 1 vs. 1 best of 9 showmatch each and every week, where the winner will earn a $500 prize and a $100 bounty on their head. For example, if a player wins three weeks in a row they will have earned $1,500 and a $300 bounty. If a NEW challenger defeats him, they will earn $500 for the showmatch, take the $300 bounty home, and have a new $100 bounty placed on their head for each week that they win.
When: Tuesday, Jan 29 12:00am GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also broadcast the match repeatedly afterwards!)
Creator.Prime is a multiple champion, but often is overlooked when considering the best Protoss in the world. He's one of the top 5 Protoss in the world, truly fearsome with his gateway play. Last year he only lasted 2 rounds in Fight Club. Can he start a run in 2013?

I'd argue that GuMiho is the best non-champion player in the World. That's besides HyuN, who went 15 weeks in Fight Club. His all-kill of Slayers in the GSTL Finals is one of the most impressive feats ever accomplished in Starcraft 2 history AND he did it with style. Team Liquid voted his starting match v. MMA the best game of SC2 in 2012. Can he replicate the HyuN magic and make the GuMiho Cinderella story? He dropped his glass towel at the ball you know.

IPL never fails with the cringe-inducing jokes..
Excited to see this match, Creator's a hell of a macro player and Gumiho is as well. Going to be interesting to see the builds they will pull out, I bet we see more allins then you'd expect in an effort to meta-game the opponent.
My bet is on Gumiho pulling out a 5-3 victory.

This is truly a battle between the immovable object (Creator) and the unstoppable force (GuMiho) colliding. Their styles clash greatly, so I think it will end up an epic series of defense vs offense. Not really sure how this will end because of how equal both players are, but I give the edge to GuMiho because he has been playing a bit better recently.

Creator, while no doubt got the talent is one of those players that always seems to do a good job, but chokes at the final metres. I would rate him as an improved version of HerO, a player that sometimes has to deal with nerve issues, although to a far lesser extent than the Liquid ace.
PartinG and MC seem less affected and I would rate em higher atm
Anyways, this should be a close series, 5-4 / 5-3 Creator would be my tip

It's hard to say who's the best protoss player, they all have their qualities. One could make the case for either of those, as well as Rain.
Still, being top 5 of your race will get you tons of fans. Also, Prime are kind of fan favorites due to a certain king.

yeah i think the observer could work on minimap awareness a bit, i've noticed this in a handful of ipl broadcasts over the past few weeks.

edit: ah ok the casters are observing. i guess that grants a little leeway then. i do think that they should jump the camera around to the various points of action though, even if they don't have the time to cast what's happening at each location, at the very least it would give a better idea of the total action going on

Yeah figured. The casting is great though, so it's ok! Still, it's annoying to see a still picture of Gumi's main army while he has units in Creator's natural (not the main as I said before).

Creator blinked over but didn't snipe the vikings. He let like 4 vikings to kill 3 colossi and the stalkers just stood their to eat marauders's bombs.

Well he was often stucked to RO32 and was also stopped in RO32 this season. But he was in RO8 last season as the one and only toss remaining so I guess we can't call that a curse.
