I didn't watch, but it sounds vaguely reminiscent of IdrA "6 polling" aLive. MMA's decline has been pretty tragic. Months ago he'd play incredible Zerg players (maybe even Stephano, I don't remember specific matches) and it'd seem like he was toying with them. He'd be dropping in one place, nuking in another, running 2 hellions into a drone line elsewhere, and then fighting the main army and doing damage in every spot at once. And now we're at this, pretty disappointing.

No. This tourney had the best possible lineup. Every major player was invited but who wins... Zerg as always... we need HotS right now! WoL is just not balanced since like 4 month.

What makes you think that HotS will be any better?
Both games are design and balanced by Blizzard so all you are doing is buying time until the next screw-up.

Blizzard does not balance WoL anymore, they focus 100% on HotS - it has to be balanced.

I know terrans feel hopeless... hell, even the ups and downs were depressing with a 6-11 record for terran. At least try, doing that is like decreasing your match-up chances from 40% to nothing.... then again he did take one game so bleh.

I (and probably him, since he decided to do it) think it actually ups his chances. He just mis-microed & didn't know Stephano's reaction to 11/11, he could have made it way closer

Ahh yes, back when MMA's TvZ was invincible. He played with Stephano like a toy in IPL4.

That was a convincing series win for MMA in IPL4. Stephano has won all three of their other meetings though. MMA looks like he lacks confidence that he can beat Stephano.

I think more, it is like the other terran he has problems in the TvZ Matchup and incentive issue.

MMA gave an interview at HSC last month. He said that when he was winning tournaments (such as Iron Squid), he used to specifically research opponents and prepare builds for them. He used to take notes and stuff. He says he no longer does that anymore. He did not explain why. It just seems he got lazy. MMA's decline is more than TvZ issues.

It's nothing like how Idra 6 pooled aLive. MMA had already taken a game by 11/11, and he thought that it was his best chance to win.

Does anyone see a pattern for the recent tournaments.....something about >50% zergs in the ro16 and r08

I am not complaining about balance, I am just really tired of ZvZ, just like how back in 2010 and 2011 people were really tired of TvT.

The reports about why SlayerS fell apart seem to indicate this too.

More so zerg than Stephano, and Stephano was an excellent player before the patch, making him even more scary.

Both DRG and Stephano said the patches didn't help them, only the less skilled players. DRG and Stephano were ripping out throats even before the early patches not including the queen patch that takes most of the patch blame.
SC2 was doomed from the start.

They just launched a new custom map to test infestet terran nerf.
Not to say it's a good idea but they are still doing things.

Well, it does seem that MMA has a pretty good relationship with the Iron Squid people, and Stephano did skip out on his matches last Iron Squid. Still, French pride

Losing Coach Ryu hurt MMA's morale and playing habits badly. See the difference as soon as he left, MMA began to play at a lesser level, and combined with the SlayerS drama, there is a reason why MMA declined beyond the patches and BL/Infestor.

Highly unlikely, there is a very small pool of players currently playing on the beta, and it's not the highest caliber of players, most Code S/A players haven't even touched HotS yet, and those who have has been mostly in showmatches.

More like his coach did those things for him. ;o Should've maybe paid the guy instead of screwing him over, but ah well.
