The time has come for the Premier group matches of the IGN Pro Team League 2013 Season 1!
Upcoming Premier Matches:
StarTale v EG - Dec 11th
FXO v Prime - Dec 12th
LG-IM v Team Liquid - Dec 18th
StarTale v FXO - Dec 19th
When: Tuesday, Dec 18 11:00pm GMT (GMT+00:00) (we will also rebroadcast repeatedly afterwards!)
Format
Premier Division Group A is made up of four teams: StarTale, Evil Geniuses, FXO, and Prime. Group B contains LG-IM, MVP, Team Liquid, and Karont3. Both groups will play round robin against each other team in their group. When group stages are over, the top two teams from each Group will play in a playoff for the $9,000 first prize!

ByuL is missing from the LG-IM lineup.

Pretty even teams now that TaeJa and Seed aren't very impressive at all compared to the summer. IM has the luxury of having a larger variety of players and races which TL doesn't have. While HerO can do well, I'm not so sure he can hold off IM in his rather inconsistent state.

First is doing the right things so far, constantly harassing with Zealot warp-ins and Warp Prism drops to exploit BL/Infestor speeds, while also teching to Carriers to exploit the lack of Corruptors.

Sweet I've wanted to see Carrier/HT since the patch. It should be way different now since storm will kill ITs before they hatch.

Zenio just didnt scout the only transition that can beat BL/infestor, pretty disappointing tbh.

IIRC, the usual response to a late Carrier scout (lings ran in when he had 6ish?), is to sac from BLords by sending them to Toss expos, and then remaking that supply with Corruptors. However, the amount of multi-pronged attacks seemed to have Zenio preoccupied immensely.

According to a Reddit post, he's been having hand discomfort. And his dad was in a motorcycle accident (thankfully the injuries weren't that serious), but that also probably hurts one's mental composure. Poor guy.

It's hard to tell if First or Yonghwa is better currently, they both made it to Code A Round 3 and lost, they both have great success in teamleagues. Yonghwa with his 2 GSTL all kills and First with his 2 IPTL all kills. I think we have to wait until next GSL season to determine which one of them is actually better.

I would rank Yonghwa slightly higher for now. GSTL has more weight than IPTL. First has some high MLG finishes while Yonghwa has HSC 2nd and WCG Korea.
