UPDATED: Rescheduled the qualifiers, to avoid scheduling conflicts with other tournaments
Just about a month is left, then it's time for Christmas uhm.. HomeStoryCup again! From the 19th - 22nd of December, Dennis 'TaKe' Gehlen will open the gates to Krefeld's Nerdvana for the world elite of StarCraft II, which will be fighting for glory, honor and fun! The last title for the „HomeKing“ went to Nerchio, who could defeat YongHwa in an amazing set of games. And to guarantee top matches and the best StarCraft II action imaginable again, we have set up three qualifiers for the HomeStoryCup VI. Each qualifier is dedicated to its own area: One for Korea, one for the American area and one for Europe. Each qualifier grants one spot for the HomeStoryCup VI. And like in previous HomeStoryCup qualifiers, the winner of each qualifier will receive a paid trip, which will cover all travel expenses for the HomeStoryCup VI in Krefeld, Germany.
The qualification stage will start on Saturday, 1st of December 2012 at 12.00 PM CET, with the Korean qualifier. Just one day later, on Sunday, 2nd of December, the Amercian qualifier will be played at 6.00 PM CET. And to complete the whole qualification process, the European qualifier will be played on Wednesday, 5th of December at 5.00 PM CET.
Qualifier and stream schedule for the HomeStoryCup VI:
Everyone is allowed to participate in one of the qualifiers, with the only requirement, that your official place of residence needs to be in the specific region of the qualifier. The Sign-Ups are already available. IMPORTANT: Check-In for each qualifier will be one hour before tournament start and will end 30 minutes before tournament start!
All qualifiers will be broadcasted by Dennis 'TaKe' Gehlen along with one or more of his usual suspects. Additionally, we will provide an English stream for each qualifier. The caster(s) for the English stream will be announced soon. So make yourself already comfortable in your favourite snuggie and prepare some gingerbread, to make this winter an experience like never before.
And last but not least, we would like to thank our sponsors! Without them, the tournament wouldn't be possibe!
Is there any way to reschedule the qualifiers? Both IPL/WCG end on the 2nd of december. While it shouldnt be a problem for Europeans to come back home, I dont think lots of NA/KR players will be able to play.
SECOND! Do you guys need a Chinese caster for the TW/KR Qualifiers?
I would be more than willing to do it, and I am staying at my University for Christmas, where I will have an amazing internet connection all to myself!
EDIT: If you can get Sen in on this, I can guarantee you roughly 2.5k extra viewers.
oh shit so I guess now HSC VI is officially announced (or did it miss something earlier?) going to be siiiiiiiick. also i hope a lot of great and well known players sign up for the qualifiers
According to taketv.net they changed the dates of the qualifiers. These are the new ones:
Qualifier and stream schedule for the HomeStoryCup VI:
KR Qualifier – December, 7th 12.00 PM CET – Sign Up NA Qualifier – December, 5th 11.00 PM CET – Sign Up EU Qualifier – December, 10th 06.00 PM CET – Sign Up
Awesome!!! This is gonna be really good. New Qualifier dates look better as well. It would be crazy good if a Kespa player comes, i'd really like that. Not expecting it though.

So Dennis, will you introduce all the players to Christmas customs (Christmas tree, presents on Christmas Eve, goose feast on Christmas Day, Lebkuchen, Stollen, ...) in Germany while at HSC6?

Hope there is a separate qualiflier for China/Taiwan/S.E.A region.Homestorycup should try to bringin the starcraft scene from these regions with the rest of the world. It will be great to see a Chinese SC2pro.in your apartment. There are casters willing to cast in chinese. If a qualiflier is too troublesome an invite then.Good publicity for Homestorycup too.

Is it that hard to read the OP? It's even bold and the 2nd (or 3rd if you count the update) sentence...

I can imagine that trying to get a German visa from China is pretty hard. At least considering that, in case you want to move to Germany to your wife / husband, you need to pass a German test.
I hope they invite at least 15 terrans so we can have even a small chance to see terran in round 8. Last time sunday was really boring with only p and z and things are even worse now for terran.
Below, you can see a world map with different coloured dots and one bigger dot. The big dot is obviously Krefeld and the coloured dots are part of the riddle. Each coloured dot is related to a player, who will be participating at the HomeStoryCup VI powered by XMG. But in relation to what? Are the points birthplaces? Or did they win a big/major tournament there? Who knows? It's up to you guys to find out! Every dot has a relation to the player, but the meanings will be kept hidden (for the moment). We will watch your feedback on this and if it's too hard, we will give you some hints, so it won't spoil your fun! Additionally, we have listed the direct distances between the individual locations and Krefeld in Kilometers, to make it a little easier. Most of distances are by car, if there's a way a car could drive. --- For example: Let's take Stephano. If we would announce him in a riddle, we would use a dot in Krefeld, because HomeStoryCup III was one of his first major.
Btw. the purple dot seems to be neither London, nor Manchester..
Not sure about HasuObs or Socke, at least one of them (can't remember who) said during an episode of the "Szenecast" (German SotG), that he isn't really sure about attending HSC, because of the date (too short before Christmas)

It was Hasu who said that I sure hope he'll be there, wouldn't be the same without him! Socke doesn't live too far away from Krefeld and I think he said that the date close to Christmas doesn't bother him so much.
I hope we get to see some of the more upcoming players. Tarson, Bling etc are nice, but I would really like to see some of the newer faces. Snute, SortOF or Babyknight come to mind. Also imo Take should do everything to bring in koreans with at least a little bit of english. Polt for example would be great great great because he is also terran. Imagine a tvz casted by Polt, DRG and a regular caster for the play by play.
take just announced the homestory cup 7 to be in the summer of 2013. He also said somethin about an "outside" event and talks with the local politics (spd).
The orange dot is Hamar, Norway. The site of The Gathering, which Lucifron won this year. Nothing else ever happens there, so I think it's safe to say Lucifron is going.

I read it as 10 pm CST but it said CET (Central European Time) on the website, which would mean 4 pm EST was check-in?
The Korean Qualifier (Friday at 11am for CET I think) looks already awesome: Some sign-ups: Oz LosirA First YongHwa Yoda Symbol NesTea Sage Revival Tails TheStC
... and perhaps some other, who did not sign up with their real nick (like Revival = ehdgussnla^^)
First you let Koreans play in a North American qualifier. In the fucking rules it says that your "OFFICIAL PLACE OF RESIDENCE MUST BE IN NORTH AMERICA TO PLAY IN THE TOURNAMENT" , yet still there are some Koreans allowed to play. I don't think you understand the meaning of "OFFICIAL PLACE OF RESIDENCE".
Then, as I do my build on Whirlwind, 2 base mothership 11gate chargelot archon , I get it off and am pretty much guaranteed a free win since he didn't kill me, he scouts everything and immediately disconnects. So, they make me regame after he sees my build. I veto'd accordingly and left Whirlwind in the map pool so I could do this build, so now I get stuck having him know what my build is.
Not only does he know what my build is, I've used it against him in the past. You can see my TLPD that I've already beaten him in bo3 tournament setting before, so now he sees the build and he should know he's going to lose this game and he disconnects. So the next game he roach/hydra busts me at 9-10 min ( literally 8 roaches and 5 hydras, the most idiotic attack ) without even scouting if I was doing it again. I denied scouting perfectly and he just blind counters me thanks to the disconnect and regame.
It's so frustrating holy shit.
What's the point of regional qualifiers if Koreans are going to represent everything? So fucking stupid.

First off, You answered it perfectly, you have to play where you are currently living. I don't know for a fact, but I believe jooktoo (assuming based on the grid, he is the player you are mad about) is currently living in USA, so it would make sense that he would play in this qualifier, since it's technically the rules. Another example is how "Quantic" Golden is playing in the qualifier as well, but he is currently living in America right now. Also, they kicked pandatank out of the qualifiers because they assumed he should be playing in another qualifier, even though he is currently living in southern California.
Secondly, it's your own fault if you decided to try to do the same exact wacky build two times in a row. You could have had such an easy win if you would have played a very standard macro game, because he would have been preparing for your custom build. but I agree it's sucky that he did that, and I understand why you'd be frustrated.

Well, i don't know the situation of those koreans good enough but there have already been some koreans that live in the US like viOlet or Ganzi (i think). Perhaps Golden, Apocalypse and Jookto also don't live in Korea anymore? They're all on foreign teams so perhaps they moved... no idea tho.

They all live in Korea. They are here for like 2 months maximum. Visiting doesn't mean they live here and it obviously doesn't mean that this is their official place of residency.
I could understand if they had a work VISA, that would mean that NA is their official place of residency. But they don't, they are visiting and thus not official residents.
Now, i don't know for sure. But does progamers get work visas for countries they live in (with their respective team?) I mean, being a progamer and being in a team, is often quite unstable - and not well known, I would assume they don't get a work visa. Anyways, the admins have clearly decided that they can participate as they live in us right now - I mean, as long as they dont participate in KR/EU qualifers I don't see a problem, besides you are actually mad about it. You should probably contact the admins if you mean your game against this guy wasn't fair due to the restarts. But using the same build 3 times in a row..

Fun fact - A lot of Koreans are still in America for IPL5 and NASL... and a lot of the (now ex-)Quantic members that stay in the house are Koreans. Therefore their official place of residence during the tournament is in America. Your argument is invalid.

I used it twice. The fact the game is so impacted on HIM disconnecting is stupid.
Bottom line is that the rules state "your official place of residency must be in North America to participate in this tournament".
As i said shinyA, you should really take it with the admins if you think it impacted the game so much, instead of ranting in here. Your official place of residency - what is the definition? Do you have to be a citizen, just prove you live there or? It's up to the admins to decide and I think they know, since they check people. So they already decided it's ok, nothing more to rant about.

Yeah it's definitely possible since he was pretty popular the last time he went and he didn't qualify for the GSL Grand Tour finals so there really isn't anything going on

Since Sting had trouble signing up for the HSC, I did it for him. However this morning I had an emergency and had to rush away, so couldn't check in for him, he managed to sign himself up, so there were 2 accounts with his details on the bracket, one that I had made originally and tried to contact admins to tell them to remove, and another that he used
It would seem my account received some walkovers strangely
I'm not sure, he often kinda does well in qualifiers and then plays awful in the actual tournaments but he took it to a whole new level today. Killer really shouldn't beat those players, but he made some progress, I guess.
On taketv.net the EU Qualifier is set for checkin 5pm and start 5:30pm, here on TL it says start 6pm. You should fix that to avoid people missing to signup/checkin in time. EDIT: Nevermind, the stream starts at 6pm.
Keep in mind that those players still have to check-in, so not everyone might end up playing in the end.
i just looked over the player list, in addition to the mentioned players, i spotted some more known names: Daisy HeroMarine Cloud Fraer Protosser Krr + some german Guys, you would know if u follow the national scene like Hanfy, Acro, Tarrantius, Nemesis, KnowMe
nice lineup for the qualifier so far. for those who like to participate, the signup link: Qualifier SignUp
fraer vs Welmu rematch from Sunday's ZOTAC cup incoming if he can get past gaulzi (:D), hopefully it will end differently this time, but Welmu is quite good!
so since monchi and cloud play the qualifier i guess they arent invited. but nevertheless if they wont qualify and someone cant make it to homestorycup they can always fill the gap on short notice.
Interesting Round 4 matchups if everything goes normally:
monchi vs goswser Strelok vs Feast vipro vs Harpner ClouD vs Harstem (Round 3 already) Winner of above vs Ziktomini Xlord vs Ret (Round 3 already) Underdark vs Protosser Heromarine vs Verdi (Round 3) Livezerg vs Noticimus (R2) Bly vs Dayshi Naama vs NrsWhite (I thought naama was invited??) fraer vs Siw (Round 3) fraer (?) vs Welmu
