Are the first matches of today scheduled to start in 1 or 2 hours? My MLG calender says it's in one hour but on here it says the first matches start in two so I'm not sure.

Starts in 53 minutes

Thank you I'm excited :D

Pretty sure he's wrong. CDT I think means central time. So starts in little over an hour now.

The top foreigners not even at MLG so evryone knows a korean will win... kinda boring.

There aren't too many. But would you travel all the way to America to get stomped by a bunch of Koreans? At least we have Grubby, Naniwa, Thorzain and DeMuslim (and maybe more I missed).

That's actually not too bad of a list, it is just Stephano isn't here.

Stephano is the only one who has a mystery chance anyway.

Just Stephano?
Nerchio, Mana, Lucifron and vortix would have a better shot than these other europeans as well. (maybe not Naniwa, his state is unclear)

Those are scrubs. They don't have chance, Stephano has a so called mystery chance.

I really don't like this bracket group play format, there wasn't really anything wrong with the groups as they were before and I just really don't like having a bracket that isn't complete until the open bracket is done.

This format really kills my sc2 boner, I can't get excited. And to think we will get some extended series later on \o/

I agree, I personally find classic groups a) way more climactic and b) I think storylines come out better if someone for example 4-0s their group or if an OB player gets put into a group, how will he perform? That kinda stuff.
I really liked that better at MLGs last year.

It'll be quite the spectacle when Rain dies to Sheth. Who would have guessed?

The mini bracket thing is indeed kind of lame, I think they changed their format so the finals would never be extended series but they could still keep the championship bracket the same but go back to real groups instead.

It reduces the number of interesting matchups in the first day and in part of the second one so much, compare yesterday to previous MLGs, it's a world of difference.

Last year I was complaining about them choosing the wrong of the three or four good matches. Yesterday I was complaining about them choosing Trimaster vs MaximusBlack because there wasn't anything interesting going on.

Even better, they should just remove extended series.
