Symbol still looks good right now except when he lost to Seed he fell into deep depression, just like what happened to DRG after the Round of 4. Of course you would start to play like crap when that happens.

His hype begin when he all-killed TL and gotten second place in TSL4. But before that he was actually known for being consistently top1st GM KR along with Creator. the thing with his #1 GM though was he was kinda gimmicky ie abused gold bases, etc glad to see he doesn't need that to win, though :D

He's been fantastic in online tournaments since 2011, when Asha and CosmicSpiral were his only fans. Then he qualified for Iron Squid, did well in GSTL, got the EWM seed, made second place in TSL4, now he's making a serious bid for the royal road and made it through the MLG open online qualifiers. He is NOT just a hype train anymore.

I mean, if you describe going back to back round of eight in the GSL 'kaboom', you have some high standards. Nothing wrong with having high standards, but it does not mesh well with 'regular' and 'hype train'. Best Korean Zerg is definitely up for grabs though. It is a volatile market as it were.

The hype definitely isn't the same...Some people here started talking about the first SC2 bonjwa. I've become a huge fan of seed when he put an end to all this. But i agree with you, Symbol is an awesome player but the hype was a little too much.

![]() ![]() Game 1: Entombed Valley JYP starts as the orange Protoss in the top left position. Marineking starts as the blue Hipster-Terran in the bottom right position. Those glasses look so awful...

Season 1, Genius, looked amazing, destroyed SC/DRG in Ro32, played extremely well in Ro16. Season 2, Squirtle, looked amazing, losing only 1 game untill the finals, and also coming off dominating IPL 4. Season 3, MC, looked very dominant aswell, crushing opponents left and right, advancing first in groups. Now they are all protoss and Life isn't.. so maybe it's gonna be Rain who gets 2nd.
